    This is not dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, this is his son, Ramfis Trujillo. They were interviewing him after his father's assasination.

      They're actually right, Ramfis was his nickname. His real name was Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Martínez. Also they're pointing on the title "General" and his father was called "Generalissimo"

    Aún Trujillo hablaba inglés y francés, sus hijos fueron educados en europa por lo tanto era una familia con educación… y se le nota al dialogar tanto en Ramfis como su padre (Rafael Leónidas trujillo).. es lamentable el giro que ha dado el país en cuanto a Cultura….. todo ha cambiado hasta el acento !! Hoy se escucha un dominicano y parece como salido de otro planeta…

      He came to power in 1930 and found a village, he made the Dominican government as we know it , paid the debt to the USA got our customs back , made the national bank and our currency the peso , h was a defender of our sovereignty

      It’s not self hatred more blind pride. As a proud Dominican i call myself that, Dominican but I know where my Dominican blood line came from. For example, If you come from the Caribbean you have African blood yes, but that doesn’t mean you are African. Because you still have other cultures/blood mixed together. We speak Spanish cause of Spain (European) we also have Taino blood. That’s three different types of cultures mixed into one. To solely call one out (African) and ignore the other two (specially Taino) is idiotic. Just my two cents.

      You should see the video of Fidel Castro talking about the airplanes taken from Cuba by the Americans. Casto sounded like a very approachable neighbor endearing himself to the Americans even though he was complaining.

      As painfully that it’s for me and to think I did not agreed with the totalitarian government of Trujillo He was very Patriotic he loved the Dominican Republic he raised the GDP from 19 millions to 200 Millions from 1930-1940. The Dominican Republic was respected had The Technicolor queen of Motion Picture Maria Montez, The most famous man playboy, Ambassador Porfirio Rubirosa establishment of embassies, Germany, France, England, Argentina etc. Opening the door for the exporting goods, bananas, Cacao & Sugar a major income to the DR.

    Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Molina was his father. Hector B.Trujillo "Negro" Molina his uncle. Note el negro as Trujillo's have not only Haitian but mullatto ancestors. El Jefe always saying Dominican Republic was white and he was a mullatto. Batista of Cuba did the same thing he was also of mix race.
