Somehow missed this lady prior to now. Yeah, 2023 and I'm an old guy. Through the magic of TH-cam, I've been able to catch up. Don't get me wrong, I've heard of Norah Jones but just never did get around to following more closely. I don't comment much on these vids, because it's by-and-large, clowns pledging their undying love to the performer, or, long-time groupies with some kind of fetish, or, sophisticates making comments on the personal appearance of (particularly) female artists. It's almost as though there is a template for commenting in TH-cam. Still and the same, here I am. A poster named Wilbur Savidge posted 11 years ago: "The drums playing the bass line is something special. Who does the arraigments?" This is exactly what I was thinking the first time I was fed this video. I mean absolutely - this is one unique arrangement ... AND ... the drummer seems to be having a good time with it. This artist IS indeed something special and I'm enjoying the catch-up even more so as she's matured. Thanks for posting this video.
Damn! This woman has so many layers of talent that I feel like I'm seeing a new and improved Norah Jones every time I watch her perform. Thank you, nahuelala! This is a great look at an enormously fetching performer!
Tell Yer Mamma Lyrics I won't cry for you When the night grows long And I won't die for you Because you done me wrong So tell your mama I said hello And that she raised you Too damn slow You're too damn slow Too damn slow Because I've been waiting For your time And I've been missing Out on mine So tell your father That I said so long And thanks for raising you So damn wrong You are so damn wrong You're so damn wrong, so damn wrong. Norah Love u baby, also your voice 😍😍
There's some more live versions of this song around, but I absolutely love this version the best because of the broad, big Gretsch-sound that makes it eerie and exciting. It rings of "Mystery Train", the movie by Jim Jarmusch, and (therefore) of the earliest Elvis-recordings at Sun Records. Brilliant! Oh how I would love an entire album of this sound, and please include Norah's version of "Love me Tender" and "Are You Lonesome"...
Love this song. What a voice. The drums playing the bass line is something special. Who does the arraigments? Have added this video to my Girl's Club video Play List.

This young lady can sing and tell a story.....musical genius...
This is so much better than the studio version, what a groove.
One of my favourite songs of her
Masters of timbre!
One of the best Norah's songs (I'll sure place it in a top5 from her)
Tell Yer Mamma Lyrics
I won't cry for you
When the night grows long
And I won't die for you
Because you done me wrong
So tell your mama
I said hello
And that she raised you
Too damn slow
You're too damn slow
Too damn slow
Because I've been waiting
For your time
And I've been missing
Out on mine
So tell your father
That I said so long
And thanks for raising you
So damn wrong
You are so damn wrong
You're so damn wrong, so damn wrong.
Norah

This is a great song and I like the harmonies with the backup singer. I love the lyrics too.
Best performance, pure perfection.
Wow. Norah never ceases to amaze me. Top ten all-time best chick lead break... Posion Ivy and Carly Simon got some good ones too....
Class. And that backup singer is great

Who is the drummer? That's not Joey Waronker.
@SalutationsTitan Where? Damn is that bad..
The lyrical structure is traditional blues standard. The best thing though is trying to figure out what Caucasoids are to be 'blue' about?
Who is that on the hollow body guitar? He's great.
ok, who knows the babe's name next to Norah ?
@otto8855 Pontius "Pirate".
Poor mama.
Caucasoid
