Oh my gosh I love your channel Christina. My only confusion.... why isn't your channel huge? The commitment, passion, courage and joy you display on every video needs to be seen. Superb.
That was a heroic effort! To get yourself out of that pickle was real character building stuff. It's so inspiring. Maybe keep your compass close at hand and keep a note of your general direction? Good luck.
I love that you are sharing even the scary mistakes with us. It’s sort of like a thriller movie, where we don’t know what’s coming next, but you show us how to just keep on going. We’re all cheering for you and watching to make sure you make it safely to the next place.
Can't believe how fit you are. Also great to see some FPV of the trail up the Carnach river. That does look much rougher than I expected. Now I know why you don't see too many videos along there as you need to concentrate!
Oh. What a day you had! It must be awful to get so disorientated 😌 Glad you managed not to panic and found your way into the right track😊 Great video! Love to follow your trip!
wow that was tense and must have been scary! Well done for getting yourself out of it and getting to your original destination. All good learning and experience building, Loving watching this so far and really routing for you :D
Hi Christina, you're going along well. And don't worry everyone seems to get lost at some point on the CWT. I think it definitely earns it's name as being the toughest hiking trail in the UK.
New subscriber. After watching your west highland way series ive followed on to follow you CWT. Oh my goodness you are amazing. Youre made of strong stuff and definitely mountain sheep 🐑. So inspiring and im in awe of your courage and determination 🎉❤🎉
Congrats on finding loch quoich! ... a very quiet place... still despite tye wee detour you have seen parts most others haven't so that's a bonus and something to savour as memory of the place. Always worth carrying the map 'in the hand' so you can tick and check features off as you go along ... bit like being a master accountant. Keep it up anyway ... you'll enjoy, particularly in retrospect :)
Phew! Some of the drop offs when you got lost made me dizzy just watching from my chair. It was very tense. Never mind. You got lost, and scared but you worked through it. (and even kept filming!) Thank goodness the weather was clear and visibility good - it could have been so much worse in the mist. That said, the landscapes are just spectacular and your commentary so informative. So kind of you to share your adventures Christina. Pete
Oh my gosh I am so glad you got out ok, my heart was beating for you. Safe travels the rest of the way. I hope you treat yourself to a B&B and some fish and chips ASAP!
Wow! Thank you for such a thorough detailed report. The information is invaluable. It took a lot of time and effort to make this video. We appreciate it. Your a brave hard-core trekker. I hope I can follow in your footsteps
@@bkpktrekker4086 i didnt get any ticks at all throughout all my hiking career. I always always spray all my clothes, shoes, socks, backpacks, tent, hat with permethrin. And use deets on any exposed skin in the summer. YeS, the views are worth the adventure and suffering (at times). I long to be there everyday
Well done Hiker Sheep. It’s a tough stage!! Last month I had a total white out over that pass and although it was the second time I had done it I was really scared too. The snow was so heavy and disorienting me. Was so glad to get down to the bothy in Barrisdale and was the only one there. I don’t want to preach at all but would just be wary for looking for paths or other footprints as you have more pathless sections ahead and if you’re on a path you could just be in the wrong place. Good luck and stay safe 😊
Ooooh I so felt for you when the navigation went sideways :( if it makes you feel any better I took a left instead of a right on a busy pathless road in the pouring rain and didn't realise a mile in lol you had it far worse! I wanted to send you a hug and also tell you to stop 😂
Thank you so much for the sympathy! I almost had anxiety attack then. Lol. I will do CWT again someday and I'll do better since I know what I'm dealing with next time. :)
Tough, tough day, and it's such a bad feeling when you go wrong like that. You sorted it though and it's such an easy thing to do. What a stunning landscape again, it's just magical. The ruins you saw looked like shielings, small and basic structures that shepherds would have stayed in during the summer. They're dotted all over hills in Scotland and fell out of use in the 17th and 18th century. Some in really remote places may have held on until the 19th century
Lochan nam Breac 1 mile east of CWT, at least you knew you're going correct direction as it gave you a point on map? and river on right helped as well. very tough going. I want to do it in mid march but have only 14 days, probably impossible. I feel there will be lot of snow and desperation without any paths or visible trails, also bogs to fall in and brake a leg.. or twist an ankle in best scenario..
Hi there. Yea, I was scared that day. Doing it in March when its snowy doesnt sound fun at all. Hopefully you can wait another month maybe? Im coming back to Scotland to do the Scottish National Trail which includes the Cape Wrath Trail. I want a redo!! I know what to expect this time. :)
What a fun day! It was challenging, but you met in head on head and resolved the situation. If you take the route out of Kinlochewe to Lochan Fada, beware from the Lochan to Loch an Nid is pathess. There is a path at the start, but it is not the path you want so take care. I went little off path and had to climb up hill for the river crossing.
@Hiker Sheep & Bobo don't worry as you descend through a Bealach. Stick to the Harvey Map routes. The rock formation at river crossing is stunning. I went off route and ended up lower, 400 contour, and it's a canyon, so I can not cross. The climb up to 460 contour is tough.
I am enjoying your videos, you are trying to film as much as you can and it shows the terrain you are walking through fully, why don't you try to tag on to some fellow hikers to help you feel more reassured about the route to take especially on the pathless sections.
Oh my gosh I love your channel Christina. My only confusion.... why isn't your channel huge? The commitment, passion, courage and joy you display on every video needs to be seen. Superb.
Really nice camping at Barisdale. Well at least getting lost you get to see things others don't get to see. Well done.
That was a heroic effort! To get yourself out of that pickle was real character building stuff. It's so inspiring. Maybe keep your compass close at hand and keep a note of your general direction? Good luck.
What a trooper! Everyone was lost 😂.You'll laugh about it afterwards.Cape Wrath Trail,The Land of the Lost.
That had to be really scary! Great job regrouping & figuring out how to get back on the path.
You are a real trooper sheep. You always have a smile on your face regardless of the trials that you face

Yes I felt the same way, my heart was beating hard watching this.
Can't believe how fit you are. Also great to see some FPV of the trail up the Carnach river. That does look much rougher than I expected. Now I know why you don't see too many videos along there as you need to concentrate!
That was scary!!! I love how you keep your head and power through!! Be safe!!

Wrong way, Bobo, but very scenic area.

Wow. Thank you very much. Im scared and nervous everyday. This trail is at another level!!

Aw thank you for watching! Im coming back to thru-hike the Scottish National Trail in April - June 2024. I cant wait!! I love Scotland
@hikersheep did you have any problems with ticks? Do you reccomend the route? Overall was the scenery worth the effort?

That looked like a great camping spot.

Sound advice! I will wait and leave March for second or third time better! thank you
I’m off to do the national 3 peaks on Saturday and hope my team are as smiley as you at the end!!!!
Wowww good luck and have fun!! Yes, i hope everyone is smiley and not crying. Lol
wow that was not nice however the views made up for it take care sheep looking forward to your next upload thanks for taking us along with you
The problem with lone travelling is having no one to challenge your judgment. But that's when the self discipline has to kick in.
I was inexperienced with orienteering. Im much better now

Berhasil...ntar kurim lagi ya ..
Aye up sheep. This trail is really testing you.But you're passing with flying colours. After this CTC will be a walk in the park.(easy trail bobo😂)
Because there is no paths it looked pretty dangerous to be on your own in some places.

Well done, but read the guide books and use map.
Yep, I did.
Lost? My friend calls it "A scenic deviation"
watching people get lost on youtube is painful
Do you carry a GPS/digital map?
Not really. I opened a GPX file once though out of desperation...as a last resort
Wow massive crowd 😂😂 were they using fake fan noiselike they did in covid every seay empty... Embarrassing
