Christian has been my favourite PAOTY ever and I have followed on his thriving career ever since. His art is technically brilliant but he is outstanding for always keeping his art interesting for himself, ever evolving, diving deeper into life's mysteries, finding unprecedented ways to express what is 'behind the curtain', Christian is a REAL artist and he deserves all the praise he is receiving.

what can i say ...... is there something to say about a stunning view , a sky .. a scene ....you captivate the soul of art at its best its a scenery really , all one can do is enjoy and be blessed that people like hook with a brush stroke a tear in my eye . wsih i had the money to buy one
Photo realism is nice but the important thing is the atmosphere . He really nails it in a couple but then a couple others are a bit flat. Hopefully the work continues to have a longer, deeper conversation.
Check out the norwegian artist Håkon Gullvåg, he paints similar, and has been doing it for several years. He has done some amazing portraits of the royal family and other norwegian celebrities.
Sorry, but I find Hakon's art work very different from Christian's. While Christian is concentrated on real people, Hakon's paintings seem to be based more on fantasy figures. Also the colours are different, Christian's being more subtle. Hakon's work though is very interesting and there are a couple of his paintings I would like to have.
