This is VERY poor DIY Fab - and I hope what you say is not "dangerous"? The instructions supplied by Brita CLEARLY tell you that before fitting the filter (Brita's Instruction 2) you should, "Immerse the Maxtra+ water filter in cold water and shake it gently to remove any air bubbles". And (re the "I hope not dangerous" part) Brita also CLEARLY tell you (Brita's Instruction 5), The Maxtra+ water filter must be activated with the first two fillings. Discard the first two fillings or use the water for your plants. With the third filling the Maxtra+ water filter jug is ready for use." Is it in any way dangerous if you don't do what Brita tell you not do in their instructions? I don't know. But until you can get clarification from Brita on this I rather suspect you should withdraw this "set-up" video DIY Fab - a pity because your pictures are very clear!
I have this model, after few months filtration does not work , something broke under the filter...dont buy it Old marella model worked for many years..

So, when you replace a cartridge, you don't need to fill it with water and dispose of the water once before first use? Sorry about the confusion!
it does say to discard the first two fillings to activate the filter
@@barrykavanagh_ perfect, thanks a lot Barry!
@@barrykavanagh_ It does! And to pre-soak the filter.

i think mine didnt have the light
why the light of mine is always yellow
How do you dispose of exhausted filters?
Hi, I just chuck them in the bin! I don't think they can be recycled unfortunately
They can be recycled. Brita even offers a discount on new filters if you turn in the old ones.
@@cycl0n31911 unfortunatly Brita does not offer that in Italy and I am disappointed with Brita about that
@@cycl0n31911 You really believe they recycle them. hahahaha. Wake up.
If you want really clean water you should use a reverse osmosis filter, no other type of filter comes even close to their filtration performance
Zero water
For most people Brita will be enough. Not everyone lives in some industrial-extraction zone.
Unfortunately not an accurate first set up, please read the instructions from the manufacturer.
