@@carmenhee8032 RM can still mean "rap monster". Real Me isn't its only meaning. If you watch that vlive again, he said he changed his stage name to RM because "Rap Monster" made him feel limited, and that "RM" can let him explore more venues. He gave an example to what it *could* mean, "Real Me", but RM doesn't specifically mean just that, and it also doesn't not mean "Rap Monster"

"How are they so big in the US and dont even speak English" is such an American thing to say honestly 🤣 I'm from Russia, and I listen to English, French, Hindi, Korean, Spanish lyrics - when the song is good, it's good no matter what language it's in. We stan culture education and talent:)
UPD - same with captions, the entire world is so used to them :D

@@rxijin7602 I can't lie, you made me laugh. Maybeeee ... this would be a good place to copy/paste my reply from another comment that essentially made the same statement?
Hey gang...after reading all the comments here I would humbly like to submit ...
Please don't throw all Americans into one basket. I've traveled internationally eleven different times (including twice to South Korea), and while I live in the middle of a dang corn field in the Midwest, I've been into Kpop for a decade.
I have precious friends who are from Serbia, Iran, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, South Korea, China, India, and Nigeria. I watched foreign films with subs before I ever discovered Kpop. I know that I'm a little unusual, but I'm not a unicorn. I have many friends who are like myself. Back in the mid-1960s before my dad was married, he spent an entire summer on a group trip to the Holy Land and has always had 'wander-lust' in his blood. They got off the boat in Scotland and journeyed all the way down to Greece (and possibly Turkey I can't remember now). I've studied French and Greek, and have picked up some Korean. My niece not only speaks Mandarin, she excels at it and is a sophomore at university.
I do get it that many Americans are exactly as have been described, and believe me I can roll my eyes and want to scream and shake people. Unfortunately, the loud ones get the focus. The strong ones get the focus (like radio and awards show gatekeepers). But what gets highlighted is not an accurate representation of the entire country, just as a K-drama isn't a direct reflection of life and relationships in South Korea.
I know that no one meant any ill will, and probably no one intended to imply that literally ALL Americans are a certain way. I'd just like to suggest that a few thoughtful, qualifying words would be useful, like 'some' or 'many' or 'often' instead of 'always'. I hope I haven't offended anyone. I'm just throwing my two cents out there. Everyone stay healthy and avoid the stoopid virus. Ugh. Thank you God for the internet.

I always find it funny when people say they can't do both at the same time, like seriously these people sure have had an easy life XD Nowadays for me the subtitles are mostly in English (because there's usually no subtitles in my language) but my English has gotten a lot better because of that tbh.

Ikr... I grew up watching movies/dramas from other countries e.g. Hongkong, China, Taiwan, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Thai, France, Spain (spanish telenovelas!), and always with subs! That's how I picked up bits and pieces of other languages, through listening and reading at the same time. And yes, I have absolutely no problem paying attention to the facial expressions of the actors as well. I get pretty impatient when I watch reactors struggle with reading or actually reading out loud word for word.

RM stands for "Real Me" now. My bias (favorite) is Jimin, the guy who started the song with the blue hair, why? His personality, charm, charisma, and his unbelievable raw talent and hardwork. Jimin is a monster performer, he always leaves me breathless.
For me it's always the lyrics, I might not like a song the first time I listen to it, but the lyrics can change my whole perspective of it. There are songs I only listen for the sound. But the songs that truly shake me and stay forever rooted are those that have lyrics that speak to me.
"How are they so big in the US and dont even speak English", what an american thing to say. It always shocks me, how unused americans are to things from other cultures even if the USA is a whole mixing pot of different cultures. I'm Peruvian (South America), so I've been listening and consuming media from other countries all my life, language has never been a barrier for me.

Girls you should tell him that these boys trained for years or atleast a couple of months to master everything. Kpop has this kind of intensive trainingvand after years they can tell what designated position in the group you are in, it's kinda depressing for every idol but for me it's very effective. I believe that's what makes kpop different you can tell by the result.

@1:18 Their Official ON MV was right below the manifesto video LOL
BTS “ON” Manifesto - I think of it as new grown mature versions of their old selves *They teamed up with marching band / dancers called THE LAB and filmed in Los Angeles which the kinetic manifesto film is a preview video of their full choreography since they only do the dance break part in their official MV* when this came out I was like this the whole time 🙀👀 then ☠️ toward the end, I couldn’t explain it at all I had no words it literally gives me N.O with Not Today vibes that I found later through interviews that this title track is reverse of their 2013 title track “N.O” from their second album ‘O!RUL8,2?’, our guys definitely didn’t come to play, once I heard it I knew it was the title track. Like OMG the others are playing the drums behind Suga and our man Jin front & center. I did notice Jin wasn’t part of the dance break b/c he said it was very difficult for him which is perfectly fine & understandable, he has been doing so great along with RM and Suga with their dancing; i’m overly proud of their improvement 😵😻 I know nobody wants to think about it but since Jin, V & JungKook will start standing out more because V & JK will have to carry the responsible of BTS name when the time comes having to send off their hyungs one by one unless they all decide to enlist at the same time which i pray doesn’t happen; which hasn’t been confirmed yet and i’m not sure on how that would work since they haven’t started their solo debuts yet which is concerning me the closer it gets to enlistment which may not happen because of the virus outbreak. The more I listen with lyrics & many fans have their theories but I think what theyre basically saying is no matter what negativity or challenges comes their way they’ll overcome it together when they say “Bring it, Bring the pain”, I wish every kpop artist had that mindset because there would’ve been less disbandments & members leaving their groups. I’m so proud of their improvement and I also believe the backup dancers representing the ARMY 💪🏽 which is saying that the fans & BTS have each other’s back, theyre willing to go out of their way to help each other and others to get through the hardship. Theyve mixed in allot of their old choreo with this new choreography, there’s so much symbolism going on within their dancing including the new fake tattoos on Taehyung’s face & neck which he wanted to use for this concept. Their outfits symbolize the Light & Dark, which they’re finally embracing both sides to balance themselves (revolutionary title song). #BTSOn

Im happy yall saw the dance version of on but I would really really prefer the MV because you said like the background or the setting shows more of the story as well as the lyrics but with the dance version they only have one background so it will be more accurate showing him the MV so we can have more visuals more exclamation and everything like that but it’s just my opinion
