I'm a Morissette die-hard fan but in terms of whistles, Mariah hands down wins. However, these clips of Morissette singing in whistle notes are not the best whistle of hers. There are some songs that Morissette sings in whistle better than these sets of clips. Like when she sings in whistle for 14 seconds with riff and runs in "I wanna know what love is", also "Di mapaliwanag" live and in her performance of akin kana lang in wish 107.5. And her cover of "vision of love".

Well if we only compare LIVE whistles (and disregard any that are lip synced), Mariah would still have the edge because from what I’ve seen, Morissette can be pretty pitchy with her runs in that register - not always, but enough for it to a somewhat recurring issue. Now that Mariah’s voice has had a noticeable decline in ease and range, obviously Morissette has better control in whistle notes now as compared to Mariah’s current vocal condition, but in both their primes, it would definitely be Mariah. Now if we compare whistles from their records, Mariah would EASILY come out on top, no question. Her artistry and the way she plays with different textures and tones is unparalleled.

the better vocalist? its depends entirely on what you prefer. There's a LOT to be good at in singing. If you like distortion or screaming (which can be done healthily), then mariah and Amon are not for you. This idea that technique is what makes or breaks a singer or puts them on some sort of mount olympus is nonsense. Technique is wonderful and I've spent the majority of my life studying singing technique, but you can't use that as a basis to say, "this person is a better artist because notes." Even between the two of them. Mariah's aesthetic decisions are influenced so heavily by RnB because when RnB WAS pop, she was on top. Meanwhile Amon prioritizes belting and power. So much so, she tries to achieve power in her whistle register. If you have a particular thirst for power in your favorite singer, you'd probably prefer Amon. I don't and I prefer RnB. That's preference. I thought Pavarotti was pretty good.

Well if we only compare LIVE whistles (and disregard any that are lip synced), Mariah would still have the edge because from what I’ve seen, Morissette can be pretty pitchy with her runs in that register - not always, but enough for it to a somewhat recurring issue.
Now that Mariah’s voice has had a noticeable decline in ease and range, obviously Morissette has better control in whistle notes now as compared to Mariah’s current vocal condition, but in both their primes, it would definitely be Mariah.
Now if we compare whistles from their records, Mariah would EASILY come out on top, no question. Her artistry and the way she plays with different textures and tones is unparalleled.

Mariah did not even lip sync in the video he used,so I don't know where you are trying to insinuate.Mariah did not even lip sync from 1990-1996(1997) even though she was sick in the music box tour 1993 and she didn't cancel the tour,if you don't believe me watch The Art of lip syncing part 1/2.Mariah even in 1998 still whistled and sang with the playback track to show that she was not used to lipping, but things didn't go as planned due to her nodules becoming bigger affecting her voice.Mariah still sang vision of love live from 1990-2023 and the best was 2003 Charm bracelet tour (Zurich). Singing with a damaged voice since she was small is not easy,but still sang very well for a person that had nodules .

the better vocalist? its depends entirely on what you prefer. There's a LOT to be good at in singing. If you like distortion or screaming (which can be done healthily), then mariah and Amon are not for you. This idea that technique is what makes or breaks a singer or puts them on some sort of mount olympus is nonsense. Technique is wonderful and I've spent the majority of my life studying singing technique, but you can't use that as a basis to say, "this person is a better artist because notes."
Even between the two of them. Mariah's aesthetic decisions are influenced so heavily by RnB because when RnB WAS pop, she was on top. Meanwhile Amon prioritizes belting and power. So much so, she tries to achieve power in her whistle register.
If you have a particular thirst for power in your favorite singer, you'd probably prefer Amon. I don't and I prefer RnB. That's preference.

Yes mariah is a legend but lets accept the fact that she cant do it anymore thats why she lipsync most of the time and lets appriciate Mori's talent she's one of a kind a true vocal beast. Mori is a mediocre singer with a big voice. She kind of lacks great musicianship that makes her stuff stand out artistically. I remember her copycating Yolanda Adam's I believe I can fly rendition, not only the vocal styling but even movement. It was freaking crazy.

She's classically trained but she lacks flavor in her voice. Her tone is mid, she's too nasal, her low notes are mid, and all she always do is belting to prove that she's a great singer.
