can't say i'm too surprised the BBC haven't paid him anything, but i'm even more surprised they haven't even so much as talked with him about it

lol - prob got the job ... judging by the VIP respect they showed for HIM .... the other 'guy' didn't even get the job ... his performance of thinking on his feet should've at least warranted some merit.

the interesting thing is if the bbc just went "oh we made the mistake we will send you the same amount we were going to pay the guy we intended to interview and give you another chance to have your actual job interview" guy would have been happy and that would be the end of it
Not sure I follow you, do people get paid for being interviewed? And he apparently was still interviewed later for the job, but didn't get it. The issue is that the BBC are still profiting from the video, and he's never seen a penny from them.

This is really bad from the BBC. He saved them from absolute embarrassment on live tv, they should have given him the job, but at a minimum a thank you and a small gesture of gratitude in the form of a gift or something. It’s absolutely horrendous that they did nothing.
