I think it was new to my ears and very excited after having scoured windir discography after revisiting likferd I decided i hadn't listened to winder thoroughly enough maybe i was wrong though i never admitted to liking it only posted the question. I dunno I really enjoy them as much.
Gaute composes the songs based on his classical music influences making the songs more melodic than Windir, add to that the iconic Sognametal guitar sound and atmosphere, that's the reason why the Cor Scorpii songs always put us in this familiar Windir atmosphere adding more magical melodies other than folk melodies, that's the only difference between Windir and CS
