Finally you got to the JTM !! I have all four studios and this one is now my favorite!!! The plexi runs a close second!!! They’re all great sounding amps,I run them through two 2/12 studio cabinets with G12 m greenbacks!!! Thanks for the info I knew you’d like this one!!
So, you swapped out the stock speakers for Greenbacks? How did the tone change? I'm trying to decide between the JTM and the Plexi heads. I really like the matching 2x12 cabs, but I don't know about the stock speakers really allowing the amps to reach their full potential. Greenbacks just make more sense to me.
Sounds great. Very versatile sounding amp. When you stated you loved Marshall amps, I spit out my coffee laughing so hard. The visual of all your Marshall heads behind you kind of states the obvious! Keep up the reviews!
Thanks for the video. Is the effects loop usable? Given that the distortion happens in the power amp section as well, it kind of seems pointless to have! 🤔 appreciate your input. Thanks
Another one of your great, on the fly lead/melodies. Would you say this series differs from your experience with that JTM45 reissue? With that block logo these are clearly based on the first JTM's, and I think that reissue you demo'd was more likened to a 65'/66' JTM.
Finally you check this out! Such an amazing amplifier for only 950 for the head (or well, only.. still a hefty amount but comparatively)! Great playing as always :)
Just got one of these a few weeks ago, compared to the Plexi, it's a whole different feel. The way it responds to pedals is really good. As you said, this amp makes you play a little differently than you would with a Plexi or JCM800.
great review ! Thanks Euge I really appreciate your reviews, we got so much details and knowledge about the gear. What is your opinion between JTM and SV20H ? for a bluesy and rock tones lets say.. I play strat and SG and still searching which one to get 😆 cheers
Jesh!
I think so but can’t be sure ’cos I’ve played with so many amps during my career. I think I’ve had those every now & then as rental backline on some shows and it probably did the job just fine ’cos I really can’t go wrong with a Marshall 😎.
@@EugeValovirta230V It would be nice if you could do an in depth review on one of those, your style - we all love and appreciate.... if you ever get your hands on one. It is a bit of a cult model that has been also misunderstood by a wide market. Basically a JTM45 with an extra gain stage, SS rectifier and KT66 power tubes (like the original Marshall). They are also not as loud as the EL34 Marshalls despite being marked as 50W and 100W heads and 50W 2X12 combo. They were also complimented with their own A and B 4X12 speaker cabinets loaded with very rare Celestion Greenbacks labeled as Marshall G12C Made in England. The same speakers accompanied Jimi Hendrix's limited production hardwired Plexi heads from some 15 years ago. I hope this was not too much information 😄. Cheers!
Anyone know what OD/Boost pedals would pair well? I hsve a 2525h silver jubilee so i dont need anything to get me crazy amounts of gain but i rlly want a st20h with a small pedal to push the amp just a little to get more rock tones at a quiet level
I already have the SC20H with the matching cabinet. Was thinking of this combo but don’t know if it’s suitable for home playing to Malmsteen’s song cause I’m trying to venture into him now. Any advise is appreciated. TIA.
I would recommend going for it! Malmsteen plays a plexi with an OD in front to get the gain and his tone is actually largely from the pedal. The plexi is very similar to the jtm, at least enough where for 90% of players they can be interchanged with almost no difference
JTM studio is a 20 watt version of the JTM45 (despite the name it’s a 30 watt amp); JVM studio is a 20 watt bersion of the JVM amp (100 watt) and 800 Studio is a 20 watt version of the JCM800 2203 (100 watt) & JCM800 2204 (50 watt) amps.
You sounded sort of like Gary Moore when he was really cutting loose. Great sounding amp, however, you're playing was really impressive. At the heart of every great rock guitarist lives a great blues guitarist.

I love metal, but when you post stuff that isn’t metal or metal related it’s very refreshing. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Will do!
I can hear how well this ST20 inspires you, really brings out, a joy it must be to play.
Yeah I liked it a lot 👌.
Amazing video as always, I learn a lot from you.
Glad to hear it! Thanks!

On the fence on buying this one. Still debating, thanks for sharing!

Totally agree!
Oh my God you absolute smoothie!
😎🕺
The Marshall Studio Series is excellent value. But, c'mon...when you play that 1987X it is fantastic.
Well done !
Thanks!
love this amp paired with my studio plexi in stereo. Used to use the studio 800 was a bit too gainy for my style of rock. Love your channel Euge.
Rock on! Thanks!
the sd1 kills the mud perfectly i think the jtm 45 amp sound like vintage channel on amp 1 mercury
Felt Eric Johnsons S.R.V. inspired, very cool!
Yeah that I threw some EJ licks in there too 😎👌.

Grab n Go amp this one or 1974x? Which one would you choose?
I think they both do the job great so I guess the one that’s available and cheaper 😁.
Very nice sound
Thanks!
Kuulosti pehmeeltä ja hyvältä overdriveltä 😁 Tosi luonnollisen kuulonen ääni, orgaaninen ja miellyttävä. Euge, mitä luulet, riittääkö 20 wattia 4x12 kaapin kanssa half stackina satapäisen yleisön keikalle?

I’ll do one if I ever get my hands on one 👌.
maybe you shoud try the fuchs audio mantis 89 it is a jcm 800 900 style amp and for plexi tones try a amp from kool amplification
I wonder if you have ever played a Marshall Vintage Modern before
Years ago and I remember and liking it a lot. It was part of a rental backline on some tour / festival. Would be cool to try one out again.

Would be so awesome if you could demo a prs hdrx20 as it is kind of a breed between jtm and plexi. Any chance??
If I get a hold of the amp for a day someday then yeah.

As soon as he asks 😎.
so what s the difference between jtm studio, jvm studio and jcm 800 studio?
