Saw this in theaters when it was released. I have never seen a crowd laugh so hard at a movie. I couldn’t wait to watch it again because I’m sure there was stuff we missed from laughing so hard.

Apparently the production was an absolute nightmare. I think Trey said it was the most stressful thing they ever created. Considering it was an instant classic when it released I bet it was a huge relief.

I never said Sargon would have spoken it. I said it was Sumerian from the time of Sargon the Great. The Akkadians conquered Sumeria, but Sumerian language and population were not simply erased (specially as Sargon was the first Akkadian emperor after the conquest of Sumeria)
It means this version of Sumerian was late sumerian, as the language and culture started to fade due to Akkadian influence and rule.
