Sir can u pls explain why does paradoxical CNS acidosis occurs with soda bicarbonate administration.

It's due to diffusion of CO2 intracellularly.This was however an observation in invitro studies and seen when large bolus of soda bicarb is given.
Clinically no problem if sodabicarb given in small boluses or in infusion

I prefer 1:3 dilution if given by peripheral route.
Fluid status of patient and blood sugar level must be considered before that.
Otherwise give through central line without dilution
