Peccato solo che si veda poco bene. La Devia lì è più giovane ed anche Bruson e hanno una resa migliore, anche se qui sono comunque splendidi nonostante l'età.

We could compare videos of both full performances to make that judgement. However, there does seem to be a small problem. There would appear to be no Sutherland/Pavarotti video in existence.

Sì, ci vuole così tanto. Perché se mi chiedi "questo è BELCANTO per lei?", con tanto di maiuscole sul belcanto, sono autorizzato a pensare che tu stia facendo dell'ironia. Ironia ampiamente confermata da quel "mi sento commosso che lei ha capita/o il senso della parola" (tralasciando gli svarioni grammaticali, che non ti consentirebbero di parlare di conoscenza dell'italiano). Campione di box? E che facevi, confezionavi scatole? Bah... Comunque, grazie per l'apprezzamento, se apprezzamento era.

This performance is a bit stodgy for me, Im afraid. The Sutherland Pavorotti performance is still the tops imho.

Devia siempre se caracterizó por hacer de sus interpretaciones una heroina convencida y convincente. Una gran cantante y una intérprete que utiliza sus recursos tan acertadamente. Hace duos conmovedores con Alvarez, que tiene una voz enorme, pero no es muy buen actor que digamos. Esta versión aunque con buenas voces, la dirección me parece tan lenta, aburrida. No tiene el espíritu de Donizetti.
