If you remember Castle, one Halloween he wore a "cowboy" costume (same as what he wears in Firefly) and his daughter called him out on it. He asked, "What's wrong with this?" and she says, "First of all, you wore that five years ago." LOL!
One of my favorite lines in any movie/show in history was that exchange between the sheriff and Mal when he was returning the medicine. One of my core beliefs is that you do what is right no matter the cost. When the sheriff says a man gets a job, he doesn't ask questions, when he finds out the truth, he has a choice.... Mal's response is exactly my core belief. "I don't believe he does"
Oh my it's always a pleasure when someone starts getting into the verse and seems to love it after one or two episodes. I can't wait to go on this journey with you, and all of us are going to be there with you at the end. It's a bit early yet, but since you've enjoyed Rick and Morty, and Firefly, I think you definitely might enjoy The Legend of Vox Machina. There are only 3 seasons (so far) with 12 episodes per season, and each episode is just a bit over 20 minutes each. I hope you'll give it a look. 😉
The fans that could watch the show did love it. The problem was the network messing with the show air dates and times, as well as episode order. Some episodes never aired until the collection was released. And it was really only about half a season worth of episodes, since seasons at this time were over 20 episodes per season.
13:00 Fun fact: Jewel Staithe, the actress who plays Kaylee, doesn't like strawberries. 45:58 Yes. Companions must not be confused with streetworkers - companions have a very high social rank. Usually they only interact with the uppermost people in society.
47:18 Fun Fact: This guy who plays the Sheriff, is in a movie called "Slither." In that movie, he plays deputy to Nathan Fillion (who plays the sheriff.)
"I love science fiction, most of you that know me knows that's my favorite genre" as she is surrounded by Grogu, Chewy, Bobba Fett, an empire poster, star wars lunch boxes. You don't say? haha!
I heard during production, Fox execs didn't want Zoe and Wash married. People are more interested in "will they won't they" dynamic. Joss Whedon stayed his ground on that. I think that had a big reason why Fox killed the show on arrival.
This is one of the shows where you don't say, " he's suspicious, it's him", and try figure things out...because you're going to be wrong nearly every time. Best to sit back and enjoy.
Interesting Easter egg. On the Anti-aircraft gun, at the top center is the corporate Logo of Weyland-Yutani, which implies that firefly is in the same universe as Alien. which has easter eggs from other movies connecting it to Blade Runner, Soldier, and others not including Predator. LOL
Well, no. Soldier is connected to Blade Runner, because it was a sequel-of-sorts. Featuring the Tenhauser Gates, a spinner, etc... Alien has no connections to Soldier, as Soldier came out years later.
Alien would include Predator, You have the Alien vs Predator movies. Predators and or Aliens dealing with Reavers would make and interesting story line.
This show has a lot of heart for a western sci fi and this cast is arguably the greatest ensemble ever brought together. Its just ..Well...awesome. Personally , the most endearing relationship in the show is between Mal and chloe. Mal is one hell of a show protagonist . At the end of the shows run, you'll really hate the fact that it was cancelled. 😊

Kazzy finishes the Pilot: "I love this show!!!" Me: "Oh sweetie...this ain't even the tip of the iceberg." Joss may be a bad human but damn if he ain't an amazing story teller and world builder.
@singingwolf3929. Joss Whedon gets a bad rap because he doesn’t suffer divas. Not a single member of this cast had a problem with Joss because none of them thought of themselves as prima donnas. F those bit€hes from Buffy. They acted like him expecting them to be professional was a MeToo thing. So they came out with that crap because they weren’t in a spotlight anymore, slipping into irrelevancy. Their narcissistic egos needed a boost. So they pulled a BS lefty card. Be a victim.
The real brain fungus and Nightmare fuel is that fact that there was no kids or women found abord the derelict ship. Any one care to speculate why? Remember Josh was under some pressure to keep the show Kid compatible so they could not show what the ship would have really looked like after a reaver culling and he sure as hell wasn't going to be able to show anything about the fate of the kids or women, but if one lets there imagination dip down in to the darker recesses of terror you might get a clue.
