Goalie here. Scoring is down mostly due to goalies being more athletic than before. Plus you’re looking at just the set on a normal body without the chestie or short.

Scoring is up, have you not been watching hockey? It's higher than the spike in 05-06. Goalies can't cheat like they used to and players are getting better with better skates, sticks, and specialized training/condition on and off the ice. It hasn't been this high since the early 90s.
