There is no Constitutional issue of Prayer in Government. The Separation of Church and State has been misunderstood for too long. Our Founders meant that the Government cannot assign a certain Religion over others and make that Religion OFFICAL. They did not ever state that prayer could not be said in Government bldgs. They were very much in favor of God. They were religious and believed God guided them every step of the way. They set this Country up to practice freely any Religion of our choice as long as it did not harm others. Read the Federalist Papers which most people never do where they elaborate on every decision they made in their own words.

Overall, I feel so bad for the residents of the Township who truly need the basic services. What is the percentage of residents who qualify for these services? This supervisor makes it seem like everyone is destitute. If it's so bad, wouldn't the state of Illinois step in and provide emergency assistance? If there's no insurance coverage, how can a meeting be held in an uninsured building? Is the insurance different for buildings and employees' coverage? This is very confusing. 🤷🏾♀️
We have found that it is very helpful to have created a record of these meetings, even when they are not official township business meetings. We have often had to refer back to our videos of previous meetings, especially during our fact-check process.
