    "At Last!" Someone who narrates his videos, it makes it so much more enjoyable to watch & easy to follow, talking of which I've liked & Subscribed to your channel, I just wish a few more modellers would follow your example, the layout speaks for it's self pure perfection in every detail 10/10

    Wow your layout is beautiful! I have a soft spot for narrow gauge.

    Beautiful layout! It really shows what you can do in a small space. Extremely well done my friend!

    Ganz feines kleines Kino !
    Besonders schön diese schnurpsenden Geräusche beim Fahren der Loks !

      Guten morgen, die Geräusche hängen teilweise mit der alten Kameratechnik zusammen und fehlender Geräuschdämmung. So ein Modulkasten ist eben auch ein guter Resonanzkörper.

    this is one of the best layouts I've seen in a LONG time (and I've seen a few) have you ever considered attending a local show/exhibition

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many thanks. Don't miss the other videos, showhing the easy and flexible way, to assemble this layout. Meanwhile, I added backdrops to the modules and even build another one. I guess it's time to make a new video.
      The layout was first shown in public this year in Germany, where I live. International shows are not on my schedule yet. I had plans to attend an ExpoNG show in UK, but I don't know when this might happen.

    Great layout! I assume your using standard dc and do mostly European modeling? If you but a capacitor in your engines they will have less electrical pick up problems. Hon3 always seems to have pick up Problems.

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dr. Jak G. Cogsworth Hi, on this video, the locos still run on DCC- Meanwhile, I'm back on DC while my Minitrains locos run much better on DC than DCC. In Hon30, I model mostly European logging, but I've also a Shay in service on the same layout. Usualy, I do US logging in larger scales like Fn3 and Xn30 - Check my channel for the other content if you like :-)

      Interesting! I wonder how you even got a decoder into them. I'll be sure to check out some of your other videos!

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dr. Jak G. Cogsworth Decoders are available in very tiny sizez today and there's enough space around the motor in the cab. More difficult is to install working head lights, which were not RTR installed on the smaller engines. As written above, I run them without headlights and on DC now. There's a brand new video showing how well they run on DC even when the track is partially covered with masking tape.

      Do you use kato switches? I'm starting an hon30 mining operation on my logging layout and I was planning on using kato switches because they only power the track they are switched to

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dr. Jak G. Cogsworth Hi. No, I've use only Peco tracks. They need a bit more attention during installation, but can finally work the same way as the Kato ones.
      BTW - Kato track is designed to represent N-scale standardgauge so they don't have the correct tie spacing for Hon30 narrow gauge. Therefore, Peco track is much more to scale.

    Nice job on the scenery how wide is that shelf layout and how long?

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mark,
      the moduels are 20cm (approx. 8") wide. The layout as shown in this video is 240x60cm in size. The layout can be set up in 11 different ways. There's another video on my chanel, showing the different layouts.
      More details are shown on my blog at www.waldbahner.de

    Wonderful layout are you planning any expansion?

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I already made some additional modules. Two are direct related to the logging topic of the layout.
      Last year, I build another two modules to use parts of the layout together with my Ziller Valley Railroad stuff. Videos are on my channel.
      More extensions would be possible, but space is limited.

    It looks like you used some sort of prefabricated wooden boxes or trays...?

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The boxes are made to be wooden canvas and I found them in a hobby store for painting. Try looking for "CASANI"-boxes at www.boesner.com

    where did you buy the smoke stacks you have on some of those engines?

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use stacks from Liliput 0-6-2 locos and Roco 0-6-0 locos, which came mostly with different stacks to choose the prefered one. If nothing fits, I make my own ones on the lathe.

    • @kupferbergbahn7952
      @kupferbergbahn7952 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      do you know where i could buy them?

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might try the spare-parts service of Roco and Liliput.
      I got mine from the above locos as "left-overs". I don't know any "regular" source for them.

    • @kupferbergbahn7952

    What scale is it? H0?

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's H0 narrow gauge. So the scale is 1:87 but the rails are 9mm gauge.

      Thank you! How big is a single module? How did you create the hills?

    • @Waldbahner
      @Waldbahner  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are all 20cm wide but length vary between 20, 40, 60 or 80cm. There are several different layout-styles possible from shelf-layouts up to continues-running. Check out my other videos on this layout for details.
      The hills are made from house-isolation-foam, shaped with different tools and coated with a layer of plaster.
      If you're interested in further details, you might found them on my blog at www.waldbahner.de (available in English as well). I'll start the progress-report on a new module next week (new post every tuesday).
