Thank you! The guys at Oreilly’s just told me I would need to take my 2010 Ford Focus to the mechanic. I borrowed a socket wrench and did it myself in the parking lot using this video😍
This was the one video that actually portrayed the headlamp apparatus in my 2011 Focus. It is the only one that tells you about the crucial, yet hidden, 3rd screw and clamps. Wasted a great deal of time trying to wiggle loose an assembly that was still screwed down! Thank you!
You just saved me, my old 2008's headlight bulb went out and went I took it to auto shop they quoted me a huge amount to replace the assembly and that they couldn't replace the bulb. I said no thanks and already had the bulb, then found this Godsend of a video and was able to install the bulb without damaging the assembly. I think they told me that because of the dash and the third screw and clamps (or just trying to screw me), either way I will be sending thanks via PayPal dude. Thank you!
Now this dude is a lifesaver I took apart and back on whole headlight assembly in about 35 minutes had a little trouble with turn signal not working but overall it's fire. I got quoted $839 to change a headlight assembly. Bought the part for $150 found this video. So easy. You are God send
Great video, Just changed both lightbulbs in my daughter's car, only took about 15 minutes to complete removal and install of both headlights. Thank you for taking the time to post this video!
This is the best video I found to replace my cracked headlight assembly. Step by step was so easy to follow and so pleased you took the time to record this process for people like me with ten thumbs. I did this successfully within an hour with no issues and this was a satisfying accomplishment. Great video and thank you very much.
Made easy work of changing my husbands headlight after watching three different videos first. Thanks! He has a 2009 SEL and this was exactly what I needed to know.
Thanks for showing that you have to REMOVE the grill - even the owner's manual didn't give out that little gem of information! Nicely done and thanks for the assist!
thank you man! this was the only video i could find that actually told me how to do it, im going to do it without taking off the headlights or grille but you were still the only one to say that you have to twist the headlight then pull, every other video said to just pull it out, hopefully i didn't yank the wires out of the terminals, wish me luck
My wife has a 2011 NON MKIII Focus, so TH-cam, my old reference book, had difficulty finding a NON MKIII headlamp replacement, because all the MKIII have only two bolts, you pull up on the lamp and bingo bango, you're on your way. Now, I'm a kinda handy guy. I only saw the two bolts and a lot of frustration until I find this Vid. Remove the Grill? What is this madness? It was just as easy as you said. Thanks for being, my friend. If you're ever in Tulsa, OK let me know. Your drink of choice is on me.
Thanks! This helped a bunch. Got a whole new assembly and it was kind of a pain in the arse to get everything to line up properly. Aftermarket so it's to be expected. Still this video helped a bunch.
Very good video on headlamp assembly removal - just one more note. The grille at the bottom is held by the bumper skin. You need to wedge a trim tool to unhook in the spots that you can see in the video.
Thanks for posting this video. It was a great help! The Ford Focus owners manual gives very little detail on how to actually perform this bulb replacement.
Still a great video tutorial Ed! I bought replacement lamps before I even looked into how they were swapped. Got home from Autozone and did the TH-cam search. At the beginning of your vid I thought "Oh no, I'm screwed". Then I did it. Thank you very much! Got some Meguire's PlastX lens cleaner too to clear up that glaucoma. My lights will be bright tonight. I did find that Channel Locks work very well for twisting the base from the housing. (Not clamping, but as a spanner wrench next to the tabs.) My girl hands did manage to snap the replacements back into place on the reinstall.
What this video and others fail to tell you is that the only way that grill comes out the way it's shown above, is if the 2 retaining clips on the bottom of the grill are broken. You need to rest a towel on the bumper so you don't scrape it up, insert a flat head screwdriver between the bumper and grill where the 2 large (2") clips are and gently twist to pry it up. Only then will your grill pop out like the above.
Out of the very few 2011 model vids, this the one that actually got to the point. I was intimidated at the idea of removing the grill until you demonstrated. Thanks!
going to do this today; looks easy. planning on replacing both headlight bulbs so they look the same. Left one is out. Probably will be a little different if I don't do both. thanks
Great video, I'd add is that the grille snaps in so you have to muscle it out (and in). The clip for the headlight is TOUGH to pull out. Two of my bolts plastic was already cracked so they disintegrated when I removed the bolt. For both headlights & turn signals, took me about 45 minutes from hood open to hood close, and that included a lot of moving slow to make sure I didn't crack anything.
Awesome video. Extremely helpful. I used it to install some LEDs in my 2011 Ford Focus ses model. If anyone is thinking of upgrading to LEDs I highly recommend using beamtechs.
I have to get my car smogged in California every 2 years. The guy who smogs it does a free headlight polishing. He buffs it with an attachment on his drill. Takes 1 minute and looks great
THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO OF HOW NOT TO CHANGE YOUR HEADLIGHT BULB! Simply loosen the hose clamp on the air box and remove the hose from the air box. Disconnect the wire going to the air box sensor. Remove the two 10 mm screws and lift the air box out. Now locate and remove the bulb by turning it counter-clockwise as if you were sitting in the driver's seat. Installation is reverse order. It only takes about 7 - 10 minutes. If you are replacing the bulb on the passenger side. Remove two 10 mm screws and swing the coolant bottle out of the way. Locate and turn the bulb nut counter-clockwise as if you are sitting in the driver's seat. It only take about 5 - 7 minutes. Installation is reverse order.
The guy at a shop broke the 3rd clip trying to pull my headlight out, and charge $55 for 30 minutes of labor. Ugh!! I can do this! *I agree that Ford should make this simpler, but since it's not...
this was great first choice told me why headlight assembly would not come out hidden bolt i thought about taking grill out but far to often there is an easier way .okay now what headlight bulb is in a focus 2009 number and there are 3 choices >h 11 h 13 90065 i believe please tell me right bulb so i can have it bought and not wait till i take the assembly thanks
No no no … my grill would not come off, yes I removed everything and still wouldn’t come out of clips. I also removed all 3 bolts on headlamp assembly and could get that off either. In my frustration I thought maybe I could just twist off bulb at the back of headlamp… like every bulb I haven’t changed… AND guess what ? It worked, I reached back there and it took me 1 minute to get bulb changed and put back.
My grille is apparently welded on? Lower clips, just black rubber parts holding onto the bumper attached to it that go all the way to the bottom of the car. Makes sense that it’s me tho that’s my life
Dude, you wasted a monumental amount of time! Alls you had to do was remove the coolant tank on the left side and the airbox on the right. So much easier than pulling both headlights, what are you thinking.
Thank you! The guys at Oreilly’s just told me I would need to take my 2010 Ford Focus to the mechanic. I borrowed a socket wrench and did it myself in the parking lot using this video😍

Thank you! ❤ Uncle Ford now has a fresh turn signal (He's a 2007)
Made easy work of changing my husbands headlight after watching three different videos first. Thanks! He has a 2009 SEL and this was exactly what I needed to know.
this was the 5th video i saw and yours was the first one that actually helped me! Thanks!
Thanks for showing that you have to REMOVE the grill - even the owner's manual didn't give out that little gem of information! Nicely done and thanks for the assist!

"find later" ... lmao - great video man
Nothing quite like an effective, to the point how-to video. Thank you for doing it right.
Thanks for the video, crazy that you have to pull out the grill and headlight housing just to do it though!
Thank you for such a quick and simple guide!
Oh wow, thanks for being awesome 🫶🏼
It took me many tries to find one simple video like yours thank you so much for your detail God bless
Thanks! This helped a bunch. Got a whole new assembly and it was kind of a pain in the arse to get everything to line up properly. Aftermarket so it's to be expected. Still this video helped a bunch.
Thanks that really helped me change my daughter's headlight bulb on her 2009 Ford Focus.
Thanks bro, I changed the bulb on my focus in less than ten minutes thanks to your video!
Very good video on headlamp assembly removal - just one more note. The grille at the bottom is held by the bumper skin. You need to wedge a trim tool to unhook in the spots that you can see in the video.
Informative and helpful. Bonus points for an accent that sounds exactly like Gru.
Thanks for posting this video. It was a great help! The Ford Focus owners manual gives very little detail on how to actually perform this bulb replacement.
Such a great video! Mine went out tonight and I was stressing until I saw this! It’ll be fixed very soon!
Still a great video tutorial Ed! I bought replacement lamps before I even looked into how they were swapped. Got home from Autozone and did the TH-cam search. Good Ford Focus headlamp and bulb removal/replacement video. Thanks for the post.
Thank you for the video. I have a 2010 Focus I purchased wrecked and this helped me a lot on how the front end should look
Out of the very few 2011 model vids, this the one that actually got to the point.
I was intimidated at the idea of removing the grill until you demonstrated.
Thanks!
Thank you! Like others have said, showing the hidden clamp was key. I appreciate the video.
thank you amigo you saved me tons of grief, fantastic video!
3:55 "very simple"... and I break my plastic piece 🙄. Great video though.
Thank you! I used this as a guide for replacing my front turn signals on my 2008 focus.
going to do this today; looks easy. planning on replacing both headlight bulbs so they look the same. Left one is out. Probably will be a little different if I don't do both. thanks
was not the same on my car. Bulb would not come out without pulling rubber boot out, with a lot of force. After that is twisted out. (Focus 2009 SES)
Thanks brother. Worked perfect for my 2009 Ford Focus
Great video and step by step instructions. Thank You

This was immensely helpful. I know nothing about cars this will help me save myself 200 dollars. Thank you so much, Giving a like and sub!
Thank you :)
Thanks!. Great, SIMPLE, easy to watch video
Thank you very much Ed. and a big non thank you to Ford for making it such a ridiculous process to change a flipping headlight bulb.
nice tutorial very details everything, thanks so much.i will try this .
Thank you very much as you have been helpful. I opened this again in Chrome so Googles Ad would play and hopefully you make something.
Exactly what I needed. Thanks !!!
Thank... you...
You made it so easy, thank you 🙏
Thank you Ford for making this simple easy job so fucking difficult
Thank you, your video explained it perfectly
Thank you! You are the MAN!
Thanks. It was well done and to the point.
Awesome video. Extremely helpful. I used it to install some LEDs in my 2011 Ford Focus ses model. If anyone is thinking of upgrading to LEDs I highly recommend using beamtechs.
Which ones and how are they holding up? Thanks
I have the same question. Which ones? How are they holding up 3 years later?
WOW gotta love Ford. Thanks for the video.
Thank you soooo much for posting this!
thanks bro, it really helped me this video
Thanks for this video, Ed!
Helpful video. Thanks!
Great video ultra helpful
Great video I didn’t know about the damn clip great help
Great one! 👍 merci beaucoup 😄
Thanks for this vid,!greatly imformative
How did you get your headlight assembly so clear? Looks slick!
Search Headlight restoration.
I have to get my car smogged in California every 2 years. The guy who smogs it does a free headlight polishing. He buffs it with an attachment on his drill. Takes 1 minute and looks great
Good job.u made it easy fuzzy
I'm going to follow you fuzzy

Do you have video on 2006 Ford focus bulb replacement, by chance? I can't find it. Thanks.
Have the exact same focus 2010 all black
How CAN'T one like this video?
Thanks, man! Really helpful
your the true mvp
I can't even get the first clips out of the grille like wtf... Things are literally glued in there
The guy at a shop broke the 3rd clip trying to pull my headlight out, and charge $55 for 30 minutes of labor. Ugh!! I can do this! *I agree that Ford should make this simpler, but since it's not...
I wish auto repair shops didn't overcharge, obviously for their mistake in your case, but in general too.
2008-2011 Focus has a video for almost everything. Really easy to do a lot of things yourself.
Great guide!
this was great first choice told me why headlight assembly would not come out hidden bolt i thought about taking grill out but far to often there is an easier way .okay now what headlight bulb is in a focus 2009 number and there are 3 choices >h 11 h 13 90065 i believe please tell me right bulb so i can have it bought and not wait till i take the assembly thanks
can you make video for the rear signal light please.
Thank you, sir
Thank you!

Having trouble getting light socket back into headlight
Thanks broski
Not sure if it is true, if you remove the radiator overflow, you can reach behind to the right headlight and turn signal bulb
My grille is apparently welded on? Lower clips, just black rubber parts holding onto the bumper attached to it that go all the way to the bottom of the car. Makes sense that it’s me tho that’s my life
Perfect!
hey thanks ed
Thanks
Weird how gigantic those bulbs look compared to those on my 2015..😵💫!
What about back turn signal?😅
Holy fuck, imagine having to strip half the car apart just to change a light bulb.
The designers at Ford need their ass kicked to make it this damn complicated to change a damn bulb!!!!!
My Dad used to say that all the time.
When you finally remove the engine you can now replace the Indicator lightbulb 😄
I thought it has 3 different lights, this video only shows 2, there should be the headlights, signal lights and marker lights
bruh your grille just slid out like butter mine is like cemented into the bumper clips how the fuck
U have to remove the grill great
Dude, you wasted a monumental amount of time! Alls you had to do was remove the coolant tank on the left side and the airbox on the right. So much easier than pulling both headlights, what are you thinking.
3157 bulb btw
For the turn signal?
