    You have the long thin fingers and elegant hands of a true musician. I wonder if there are many pianists around like myself who have done heavy manual labour for 30 or more years and possess the resulting thick, strong hands. How does our playing compare? Can you be ham-fisted by physique but still play smooth as butter?

    • @travisdurrans8866
      @travisdurrans8866 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes you can, but it takes hundreds of hours of practice to develop the finesse and precision shown in this video. For people with big strong hands, learning to be gentle with the keyboard to release tension is a must.

    • @milosjanic1038

      Fingers doesn't have anything to do with it. It's just practice.

    • @TuTuChief
      @TuTuChief ปีที่แล้ว

      100% there are many around the world, both amateur and professional. Just as there are heavily arthritic pianists, pianists without appendages and pianists too poor to own a piano with keys.
      You mustn't look at your fingers or hands as limbs that operate an instrument. They're part of the instrument. They strike they keys, just as the hammers strike the piano wires.
      I myself am a powerlifter and while I don't have the 30 years of experience that you have, I'd consider my hands quite robust too.
      Just keep practicing and the hands will follow.

    • @samuelwilson818

      mm. 15, Abm13; there is neither a third, 9th, 11th, or 13th in that chord, the following G halfdim7 should be notated as G7b5, as it does not function as a predominant, and there is no third so you have to make an assumption based on surrounding harmonic context, which in this case, is a ii V(tritone sub) I chord progression.

    For some reason I imagined the notes in this to be double their written length. The placement of the pulse in the 4/4 you wrote is rather slow (70bpm ish?). Not sure why I hear it around double that 140 ish
    Obviously this would turn all the semiquavers unto quavers and make the whole thing have double the amount of bars though
