I remember as a young fellow being inspired by these individuals. The respect and valor that followed their conduct in society always encouraged my friends and I to steer away from life's evils and invest in ourselves making us into satisfied citizens that realize we have a role to play in the society we find ourselves in. let us encourage other youth to imitate such individuals and force the destructive aspects to extinction. #SAPS creating uplifting avenues for the youth

I have more faith in these youngtsters than these 'experienced commanders'. These officers are going through the ranks. As it should be.
Very little of their commanders sat a foot in any type of training course. And it shows...

YA BUT PLEASE CHANGE THE RECRUITMENT SYSTEM AND RECRUIT PEOPLE WITH DIPLOMAS FIRST THEN THOSE WITH MATRIC THEY WILL BE 2ND PRIORITY... IT AINT FAIR U STUDY 3YEARS THEN U GET TO STAY HOME AND SOMEONE WHO IS COMING FROM GRADE 12 GETS THE JOB
There is a separate recruitment process for those with diplomas and degrees. There's nothing unfair here.😒

So now there are 10 000 new officers that will likely be placed at stations with some...let's call them "bad apples"....and we can only trust and hope that they stay true to the uniform and what they have learned during their training. Considering that the training standards have gone pear shaped guidance from those that are not in "someone's" pocket will show then the ropes and lead them to be good police officers who will actually know what "Protect and Serve" means. We don't even know how many of these officers got in as there was even evidence of the recruiters taking bribes from candidates to be enrolled....which is not a good start. Then there is the strange lack of diversity....why one has to wonder? Many years ago many of us were on the field at Loftus during the "passing out" parade. One can only hope that we will not see 9500 of these "new blood" officers passed out while on duty. Regardless, we do need more police who wear the uniform with pride and do the job with the same pride whilst treating SA Citizens with the respect deserved. Wearing that uniform and being given a firearm comes with great responsibility and discipline so congratulations and do not become another "bad apple".....there are enough of those.
