    Hello,
    I don't intend to store my air conditioner(Comfee Smartcool 7000 Pro) for the fall and winter. I plan to use it for dehumidification (tested at about 1.5 liters per hour) and also to utilize the waste heat from dehumidification for heating. After about a week, I had to clean the radiators from dust using compressed air at around 3 bars.

    Yes! Awesome tips.
    I have a specific model that is very similar to yours. Now, I have no doubts about how to do it.

      The cleaner shown in this video will get the smell out. Just to be sure you should spray it and scrub it a couple times. I’ve cleaned units owned by smokers and this has got the smell out every time. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

    Just commenting to thank you for making this video. I will have to go with vinegar and water to clean due to sensitivity to cleaning products. We have this model and after a couple of years it has started leaking like crazy. (Just after the rain we had a couple of days ago in the GTA.) I've opened the bottom drain and very little water came out, top drain is just wet but nothing comes out when I open it. The unit is wet around the bottom of the casing. Opening it up today. (Wish me luck!)

      I had the same thing happen to me. It was because of the rain coming into the window exhaust hose. Best of luck in tackling the service. Thanks for watching. Cheers from brantford. Please like and subscribe

    I've used white vinger/water, & air smells much better

      That would also work. I do prefer the coil cleaner method though. It’s much stronger and is specifically meant for this job. Thanks for the tip. And please like and subscribe

    I have a follow up question...the upper drain on this unit ...cap is broken off so i will need to put on drainage tube...as it did not come with my unit...what size drainage tube ( I think you mentioned 1/2 inner diameter?) and best place to get...I live in Ontario...many thanks...I am glad I got a great deal on this little ac used but it has become quite a project...the lower coils had a coating on it which was like a 1/2 inch sweater that was made up of dust, hair and smoke...but thanks to this video is now clean and shiny coils...cheers and thanks for making these videos!

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never use a drain tube on the top tray. The excess water will naturally drip to the bottom tray and out that drain on the bottom. I would just put duct tape over the top drain. However If you do want to use hose I would suggest clear tubing from Home Depot. 1/2 inch inner diameter is what it uses. Where abouts in Ontario are you from. I’m also from Ontario

    This may sound silly but here goes 😂
    Is it possible to just use the bottom drain all the time and run the hose out a window ? I’ve been using the top hose connection and draining it into a 5gal bucket for about 2 years now 😂.
    I would like to be able to just run the drain hose out a nearby window, the AC unit will be located beside and a little higher than the window is. Would be easy enough to just run the drain hose outside the same window the exhaust goes out. I was concerned the lower drain was just for dehumidify mode and the top for AC mode, so wasn’t sure how it would work. This unit runs year round inside a grow room to regulate temperatures 24/7. Thank you. I will be using your method to clean it every year now.

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can just run just the bottom drain with a hose. That’s what I do. When you plug the top drain all the excess overflows safely in the unit to the bottom tray. Both drains collect moisture in ac mode but only if he bottom one really needs to have a hose. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

    Thanks for the video! Can I do this before I start using it or just when I go to put it away? My portable one has a smell to it from years of use and I would like to clean it before I use it thank you

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching. You can do this right before using. I would advise spraying the coils with water in a spray bottle if you plan to use immediately. The chemical is non toxic but has a strong smell. Rinsing after will help get it ready for immediate usage. Also please like and subscribe

    Do you have any recommendations of cleansers in the UK amazon? The one you proposed is not avilable and ive only found sprays for car aircons, im desperate to get rid of the smell in my aircon☹️ thank you for the video though, it really helped!

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems like all the Amazon ones are unavailable at this time. If you go to your local hardware store you should be able to find a foaming coil cleaner in an aerosol. The car ac cleaners will also work on portable ac units too. But my best advice is if you use the ones for cars make sure to power on the unit outside and let run for about 10 minutes til the smell goes away because those ones are very strong. If you can find a product called klima cleaner pro in a blue can. I used that on the car ac and it was great. Here is my video I made with that so you can see the can. th-cam.com/video/98XhvbMeAd0/w-d-xo.html

    So I just cleaned my unit because it had a mildew smell, but now I’m afraid to turn it on until it fully dries inside. We’re in the middle of a heatwave here in Southern Cali and I’m so desperate to use it now! Mine evaporates the water, so I’m not able to drain the excess like you did. Is it okay to plug it in? I detached and moved aside the box with all the electrical components so they didn’t get sprayed, but I’m still worried.

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it will be ok to use. If you used a chemical like I did to clean it, Just double check on the label to see if it’s non toxic. Mine is non toxic so I can start right away after cleaning.

    My unit keeps showing P1 after I have emptied the bottom tray. It’ll work for a few hours then the code comes back on after draining. Any ideas on how to fix it?

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  ปีที่แล้ว

      So your drip tray is filling up too quickly. Best solution would be to put a large tote bin on the floor and have the ac unit sitting ontop of the tote. Then unscrew the drain cap and put a piece of hose on the drain and let it drip into a 5 gallon bucket that sits behind on the floor. This makes emptying water way easier and should prevent the p1 code from coming back. Too much water can also mean you are running it way to cold. I used to run mine at 20 degrees Celsius and it would full a 5 gallon bucket over night. Now I run it at 24 degrees Celsius and it only fills about a quarter of a bucket in the same time plus saves money for electric use. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

    What do I do for goopy buildup on the coils? Kinda looks like a mix of rust, dirt and water.

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The coil safe cleaner I show in the video works great for that buildup. You may need a couple applications to fully remove it. I have a link in the description to buy it on Amazon. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

    Does it matter what cleaning agent you use or does it have to be a certain type? Would rather be safe than sorry lol

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m glad you asked. It does indeed matter. It has to be an air conditioner coil cleaner. The brand however does not matter. The one I used is available on Amazon and works great. An air conditioner coil cleaner is specifically made to clean the coils. Your local hardware store should also carry this chemical as well. Hopefully this video helped you out. Hi! I have the same model, but mine in the second year started to produce so much water. like it dehumidify all the time. I have to have a bucket under the top hole. I don't know why it started to do this. can you help me? The AC still works fine. I'm just tired to empty a bucket when it suppose to evaporate. Thank if you can help me! Hi from Quebec!! (:

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine is actually doing the same. What temperature do you set yours at? I found when I set mine to 20 degrees Celsius it would fill a 5 gallon bucket while I slept. Then I tried setting it to 23 Celsius. It is only 4 degrees warmer but still keeps the room very cold. And the bucket is only 3/4 full. There will always be a ton of water coming out. It’s unavoidable. Only way to avoid this is to invest in a window mount unit that will drip outside. Thanks for watching. Hope this helps. Please like and subscribe

      @@BillOfAllTrades2016 thanks for the replie! I did found that the lowest gave me more water. but was wondering if it was normal! I can't have a window wall unit sadly so portable it is! Glad I am not alone. thanks!

    I should of watched this first
    We had it outside draining it would not drain so we shot the lower back with water hose with casing still on and watched cat hair shoot out
    Now afraid to turn it on because probably wasnt suppose to use water hose.

      Most of the electronics are on the top. My advice is take it apart as I did in the video and let it dry for a few days before using it again. As long as it’s completely dry you should be ok. Hopefully this is helpful. Please like and subscribe.

      The spray is only for ac coils. Nothing else. It’s a 1 purpose spray.
