Thanks man. You communicate what's going on in a relatable way. I'm.done trapping but it's very cool going along with you as you check your line! I have a mink story for you. This was when I was about 16, so 45 years ago. I was skinning out a nice mink before catching the bus for school and got in a rush when I got to the tail. As I was pulling the body one way and the hide the other I triggered the scent gland and got sprayed straight in the face! For some reason the girls weren't quite as talkative that day like they usually were.. women, go figure. Lol
I'm about 11 minutes into your video and you're setting your third trap. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time, because I have to do sets like this all the time. I trap beaver in Lake Erie, which is known for water levels that fluctuate with the wind, which constantly exposes their runs. I put a little castor lure on a stick, just like a castor mound set, then I stick it upside down in the mud coming out of the soil and hanging above the water level. I don't know if the castor is necessary, but it sure is not a hail mary set, I'm absolutely batting 1.000 with this it. Beaver ends up in my 330 every single time.
Nice catch & thanks for taking us along on the line. Huge otter. I see you have new gauntlet/gloves. What brand if you don't mind or what have you found over the years that holds up well
Hey M8 do you weigh your beavers at home ? It would be good to know , how much those big ones weigh. Keep up the good work , and hope you get well soon. God bless y'all.
Don't ever buy Bridger 330's if u wanna use a swivel stick. The jaws close so tight together there is no room. I can barely get a 3/8" rebar stake in between the jaws
Another great video as always. Hope you get better soon. Do have a question, on any of those sets say the one you called the hail mary would a foot hold work there? or don't you like to use them with ice conditions.

Otters and blue herons are the worst for fish.
