    Excited that microtonality/xenharmony is getting some more awareness. For anyone else delving into this, don't be afraid to go beyond/below 12 notes, such as the 5-note scale he used. Try 15. 19! 31! There are completely different vibes to be found in all of these different tunings; experimentation is rewarded.

    One of the other videos I watched spoke about how guitar players are always adding +1/4 bends to their music which is somewhere right in the middle of two semitones. And we love that kind of bend. Great video as always! Excellent applications!

    @theoppositeistrue 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    My eyes lit up when you mentioned mapping a knob to the blend parameter. That’s an awesome idea, dude. Can make for some insanely dramatic parts if most of a song is in normal 12edo and then suddenly one chord is wildly out of equal temp. Sick as hell.

    ughhhh. where has this been all my life. damn near wasted 12 years trying to manually accomplish this on some songs, never quite hitting the mark that I wanted. big sub and awesome explanation. thank you m8 🤙🏽

    I couldn't get it working on my plugin (Omnisphere) but after your set up explanation I figured it out. Thanks a billion

    • @mjusick42
      @mjusick42 ปีที่แล้ว

      WOW!
      How did you manage that? I don't have Omnisphere but I have some other MPE compatible plugins and have never been able to get it to work and I'm probably far from the only one with this problem (pitch bend is set correctly...).

    • @KevinTheCardigan
      @KevinTheCardigan ปีที่แล้ว

      Omnisphere is not an MPE device, so I actually disable the MPE option. It seems most Ableton instruments are MPE. Can you at least get those to function?@@mjusick42

    I appreciate this greatly! Even though I intend to utilize it in a more conventional manner, this is something I had been searching for extensively. Surprisingly, it was right there in my Ableton Live !!! I play the guitar using mobile frets, adjusting them approximately 10 cents above or below the tempered scale. Unfortunately, my MIDI could never accurately replicate the pitch of each note. Thankfully, this issue has now been resolved, and the best part is that it works flawlessly, Live, in real-time.

    Interesting, but I think you need to get away from 12 notes for proper microtonal stuff - this just sounds out of tune to me, sorry! Look up the Colundi scales for example. Also, check out Aleksis Perrala or Capsule Network for some decent tracks.

    • @SeedtoStage
      @SeedtoStage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no "proper" here. Who gets to determine which scales are proper? I believe the word you are meaning to say is traditional, which yes there are many traditional scales available. I get that you feel things are out of tune, but its not any less a "scale" in technical terms no matter how out of tune it is. Anything Ive done with microtuner thus far has started with a generated scale and then ive retuned each individual note until i like it like in the later part of this video. Cheers

    • @_ENOC
      @_ENOC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't get the point of this video. It's not made to guide you towards making music like artists you as an individual happen to like. I can tell you from experience, this video inspires people to experiment with the capabilities of Micro Tuner by giving them a starting point.

    • @VirtualModular
      @VirtualModular 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@_ENOC no, I get it. I just think it would be more interesting to use completely different tuning systems rather than taking the traditional 12 tone system and making it slightly out of tune.
