I am a employee at Thunderbird. I work in the wood shop. You see me for a split second in this video. It’s a great atmosphere and a great place to work. Our team does a great job making state of the art boats.
I have visited 7 facilities of boat works. This is the highest level of quality and professionalism I have seen thus far. Amazing to see dedication and focus taken to this level. I am certain it translates to the products, one boat at a time.
Awesome boats with an impressive history!! Now I know why after watching this video-a first class facility with first class personnel!! Thanks for a very informative tour.
As a former production worker at Formula, I feel that the work ethic has been ingrained in my DNA. I now work at health clinics, and I keep that same drive for excellence, that the Porter Family has instilled on
Enjoyed the tour of Formula boats factory. Only thing that was funny to me was Pat Laux, operations manager, did not seem to know the employees that talked on camera. They have worked there a long time. This is just an observation. Not meant to be mean.
Formula make one of the best quality boats that balance between style, comfort and performance. I was disappointed to see them switch to Ilmor instead of mercs in recent years though
Surprised that none of the workers in the mold room doing layups are wearing at least particle masks. There may be excellent ventilation for the fumes off of the resin, but there are still small particles of fiberglass floating around
Today, most facilities at this level have whole building ventilation/exhaust systems that negate the mandate for PPE/mask/respirator systems. Lowers liability insurance as well.
Well, this was mostly a factory tour describing the current build process - but we did produce a full episode on the history of Formula Boats with our sister brand YachtWorld in which we delve into Don Aronow's early involvement with Formula and how the Porter family eventually took over the brand. As a proud owner of a 370SS, I couldn’t be more pleased in the exceptional quality, excellent performance and fitment. Formula really delivers!

Know I know why Formulas are so expensive. Well worth it.

That factory is amazing , so many moving parts so well thought put .. my favorite Formula is the 500 with quad 600's . Amazimg boat
What makes me amazed is how they know how the weight of everything in the boat is so balanced all the way to the water line
Impressive 👍 complex building boats nowadays. Knew Scott Poole from racing years ago. My race partner used to sell a bunch of formula boats.
Great episode!! We love Formula Boats!
Formula owner for life!
I wish they would do a retro boats from the early 80s with the square windshields those are the best looking boats
Fantastic…..they seem to have created a real formula for success 😅
you work in a hygienic and beautiful environment
Absolutely love it!
I think Formula will be "Top Dog" in the future
These tours always make you realize why boats are so expensive
Nice boss. Employees that are working there for 17 years, he didn’t recognize.
Hope they hold RC boat races in that pond
If I ever bought and built a million dollar boat I would go to formula
Heat the paint up before painting !
Cold pimt will orange peel !

He’s allowing them to introduce themselves for the audience…
I would love to work for a company like that.
Just wish they kept the fastech line but thats just me being bias.
Built very similar to rv in the same area

USA 🇺🇸
Why aren’t the hulls resin infused? 🤔Would provide ideal resin to glass ratio and reduce overall weight.
Was wondering the same. Kind of crazy in 2022 they aren't. I'd expect a company like this to also offer carbon layups as well as an option.
@@brandonadams7837 the hulls are resin infused
Formula does infuse the boats with resin. See 11:17 Closed Molding and Infusion Area
Wow I like boat
That girl been there 17 years and he didn't know her. 😮

Kinda wondered about that myself.
They're all maga.
Masks are deep state....

You can tell this guy loves nothing more than a good "mock up"
2022 and still not vacuum infusing the resin in the hulls? Wow.
The hulls are vacuum infused
Indeed these boats are vacuum infused, see 11:17 Closed Molding and Infusion Area
no industrial masks while applying fiber! (seems to be a thread)
if you cant walk around the engines and open the hatch and replace them within the hour, you did it wrong.
👍👍👍
No mention of Don Aronow the creator of Formula power boats. Without Don , there would be no Formula.
