SOUTHBOUND Ep. 5 - The Alps (Backcountry Australia)

Australia is an expansive place, with an endless 'red centre' surrounded by thousands of miles of pristine coastline. So it may surprise people to learn that we have mountains... like proper ones. In fact, the Australian Alps (Snowy Mountains) receives more snow that the swiss alps yearly and includes Australia's Highest Peak (Mt. Kosciuszko - 2,228 metres).
In this episode, we explore a fraction of Kosciuszko National Park under our own steam. Ski-touring and split-boarding, we access the Australian backcountry, set camp and explore the surrounding region.

Yeah their are a fair few scattered throughout the national park, some allow overnight stays whereas others are for emergency/day-use. But it would be an epic adventure to traverse between them all!
