I have a Canon Rebel T7. What are the best settings for quick shots, during sports or people moving in general. Also what lenses do you suggest for long distance ex. Taking pictures from the sidelines of football games.

For quick shots during sports or when capturing moving subjects with your Canon Rebel T7, here are some recommended settings:
Mode: Use Shutter Priority (Tv) mode, allowing you to set a fast shutter speed while the camera automatically adjusts the aperture.
Shutter Speed: Aim for a shutter speed of at least 1/500s or faster to freeze motion. For very fast action, you might need 1/1000s or higher.
ISO: Set your ISO to Auto if the lighting conditions vary. If you know the lighting will be consistent, start with ISO 400-800 and adjust as needed.
Aperture: If using Shutter Priority, the camera will adjust the aperture for you. If you switch to Manual mode, a wider aperture (e.g., f/4 or f/5.6) will help with low light and give a nice background blur.
Focus Mode: Use AI Servo AF for continuous focusing on moving subjects. This will help the camera track fast-moving subjects better.
In terms of lenses, I would recommend checking out the "Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM" or just any lens longer than 50mm!
