Single carburetor 4 cyl, outside cylinders good to lean, inside cylinders good to rich. Seems spot on to me. The single carburetor and stock intake manifold is sending more fuel to the middle cylinders, and that's pretty normal. The "fix", is to run two carbs. I doubt the exhaust is causing any problems whatsoever, if you made it any richer or leaner it'd be too rich on the inside ones or too lean on the outside ones.
Sounds sweet too! I gotta get an exhaust for my Carry. I'm torn between getting one of those WirusWin pipes online and keeping the stock header or seeing if one of the local shops can make me something custom.

I could be wrong about this but when tuning an FCR carb on a motorcycle (which has an adjustable needle) they say you need to check the spark plugs at each position of the carb needle. There's basically 3 positions (the needle is graduated in a specific way) that correlate to the amount of air to fuel ratio at idle, throttle halfway and pedal to the metal. So if you kill your engine at idle and check the plugs you are only getting a reading of the air fuel ratio at idle. Which may correlate directly to how the engine is running at half and full throttle but I don't know. So you gotta run it at half throttle for a 'bit' kill the engine with throttle halfway and then check the plugs. Do that again at full throttle. Ooooor add an air fuel sensor, looks like you might have a bung for one there, which allows you to see the ratio in real time at each throttle position. Again, I could be wrong about this and how it works with these motors. I doubt the carb has a needle you can adjust. So what you're doing is probably fine :)

ya no adjustable needle in these carbs BUT yes i wanna run a wide band o2 sensor since the header has a bung. just havent been able to cough up that money yet since most of them are pretty pricey. all my money goes to stocking more parts. one day i'll catch up and have some free money LOL but thanks for the info man and you definitely have some of the coolest custom parts for the keis!

Fuel additives that come in the gasoline and fuel conditioners you add cause slight changes in color. They look fine to me. Mixture isn't an issue on FI and if you do show lean on your carbed engine you can add a little restriction to the pipe like a DB killer or a lollipop in the pipe.

I can always count on Billy for some advice! Thanks Billy! Ya I'm not too concerned about them. They looked healthy to me and the idle and rpm range is solid for sure!

Squid exhaust pipe for cylinder number three needs to be bent at an extra 33 degrees to the right to achieve maximum tuning.

Do you think you could maybe make a video about deleting the EGR valve on these things.

I think if you try to adjust for 2 and 3..1 and 4 will probably suffer and lean out.

I've owned a 1969 Sambar, and parts are really difficult to source. A few items can still be found on Yahoo Auctions Japan though

So you might not need to change them but if I went and took them out and all I would have changed them. Maybe I waste money it would have made me feel better to just put new ones in

Rather sell a pair to someone who needs them first than me just toss them just cuz. just looking out for the fellow Sambarian, but yes i agree, should've just replaced them anyways :)
