Very happy to say that I own this record. Found it by luck in one of the record stores near the Panthéon in Paris. My lucky day! Quite a rare find I believe
This is one of my favorite, sad songs, and Chet can really puts the right emotion in it! This song makes me pensive and Chet evokes that emotion out of this beautiful song. "I Thought About You” was among the first tunes that lyricist Johnny Mercer collaborated on with composer Jimmy Van Heusen -- a real keeper!
Although Chet is my favourite jazz picker , never stops surprising me. What a superb album. You only need your girl, a nice drink and chet , You could not ask for more. Nowadays , anything that is not pop is called jazz, what nonsense. This is real jazz. Long life to Chet music and likes. Greetings from down south Barcelona.
So cringe
Wow! Gorgeous album. Burnished with love, tenderness and elegance. And yes always swingin.
simply Gorgeous.
Respect for all that he did including this last LP 😇
Excellent !!! There will be no other like Chet...
Chet's trompet is hypnotizing...He's by far the best to me...I've just found this album and I feel so lucky. Thanks a lot for the uploads and greetings to all the Chet fans..🙂
I enjoyed this album as well. I heard the Studio Trieste and was compelled to discover more Chet Baker.
By the way the first song on this album reminded me so much of Miles Davis.. brought tears to my eyes. Herr are a couple of tracks and or albums that I would recommend you give a listen.

In a whimsical bliss my dear friend

What great album. It's just perfect.
Unknown to me - Thanks for posting. The longer he is gone, the greater he seems.
Force, technique, sensibilité, c'est Chet Baker.
Such a beautiful, constantly beautiful album.
Best playing of his life was with Pieranunzi, and other Italians. The Rubato really came out.....SOUL.
@@johnlindstrom9994, yes, Europe has many of the best jazz musicians, traditionally on Italy and France, and more recently in the Nordic countries also. It's a shame so much people don't know about this.
Quintetto in stato di grazia e gran bella incisione
E' come l'onda del mare che ti avvolge e ti trascina via
Beautiful ❤️thank you for sharing
No conocía este album italiano de Chet pero este toca con una ligereza y relajación inusual. El acompañamiento de Pieranunzi es soberbio. Thank you very much for sharing.
Il y a Chet....et les autres.
Chet recorded quite a few albums in Italy (apparently he did some jail-time for a drug related charge). I’ve never heard this beautiful album. Perfect rhythm section makes this a wonderful sensitively played journey of Chet’s talents. Enjoy this trip folks & Cheers!
Thanks for posting. What a treat!
special...
Chet..Sublime..Soulful
A ben pensare, quante perle ci ha lasciato Chet qui in Italia. Questa registrazione mi era sconosciuta. Grazie dal cuore.
Si me
Marvellous.
Smile of Chet Baker, obrigado por upar isso no TH-cam amigo gringo!
esse album é lindo demais :D
very nice
YO CREO QUE CHET Y DOS O TRES MUSICOS MAS, FUERON ALMAS SUBLIMES.
Estoy con Tigo
Fantastic!😊
Yes...
nice
Thanks for sharing
Nice. Thank you.
Cool, very cool
He was great because he was the only one that gave space to "unknown"musicians.
I thought all jazz musicians did that, pulled their friends up after they made it. Punk musicians like Tool and the Melvins did that too.
and also was a wonderful player
@@rheafoster7346 no matter how important Miles Davis or Dizzie or Lee Morgan or Clifford Brown are, this junkie touches me heart always in a special way...
@@ceef8688 sure, but take a look at Miles' staff for example and take a look at Chet's.
These aren't unknown players. Enrico Pieranunzi is a very prominent pianist. And certainly Chet wasn't the only jazz musician to elevate lesser known players. Familiar with Art Blakey, for example?
discovery for me too : )
anyone else think that was prince on the cover?
Looks like Prince.
💔
hits nerve.......like fuckin GaGa!
is this davie504?
Another channel to sub and bell too to get more great music hehehehehehe
It's just me or the picture in the cover art looks like Davie504?
E' di una
E' come l'onda del mare ti avvolge trascinandoti
I'm cool with the Chet until he starts singing.....("I can't tell if it's a man or a woman"... Matt Damon; 'The Talented Mr Ripley')
there's a good live Chet song where he stops mid-lyric to yell at the sound guy, "STOP F'ING WITH THE SOUND"... then you'll be sure. Total Angry Dad moment.
I was listening to 'Chet Sings' with an Opera singer, and at first she was irritated with him being slightly out of tune, but after a few tracks she realized that he was so consistently out of tune that it must be an effect - "It's like he's making everything sound like Minor" was her take-away. So melancholy.
@@beauwilliamson3628 ha ha, I would like to hear that. Did she speak openly on the recording about her agitiation and gradual appreciation?
@@ceef8688 I don't think the opera singer was on the recording, but instead listening to the recording along with Beau. Correct me if i'm wrong
That's right, a friendly after dinner music appreciation with her and her husband.
