So happy i found your channel! this is a dream of me for years aswel, im dutch myself with also limited money sadly, wanting to live a self sustaining life not being dependant on everything the society offers. Congratulations for buying a house in the countryside! It looks spacious indeed with lots of potential. If you allow me, please for a little note as a Bulgarian. 4:59 there isn't anything like "Soviet style summer kitchen" or in particular there isn't any relations between the very popular open space summer kitchens in Bulgaria and the USSR 😄 Someone must mislead you.The old concrete blocks of flats are something different though- hopefully they will be replaced with more modern architecture, but it takes time.🙂 Take care!

I have to say our concrete summer kitchen isn't a very nice place to be but we have a few friends with summer kitchen's that are absolutely lovely! Thank you for taking the time to comment. 🙂
Hi Guys, am over in London and just stumbled across your video. Was born in the UK but grew up on a 5 acres smallholding in Jamaica, so I really love space as opposed to the close that I live on in London ( HATE it and cant wait to escape ). Was wondering how did you guys manage to find this place and if you know of another place with a large amount of land and BIG barn for sale ( a total of 400 sqm ) would be nice . I was hoping to find a place down south because I hear it is warmer down near to the Turkish and Greek border and also offers a good escape if winters get too cold. ( drive across the border ) Am following you guys with interests and send you guys an email. Wishing you guys a lot of luck and wanted to say well done for making the move, especially with a young son.
Hi Mark thanks for your kind words. We bought through Joe and Jess @alternativelivingbulgaria to be honest I think our property was a bit rare. We had been looking for 2 years before we found this one. Land seems to be more difficult to find and buy than property does. The best thing to do is keep looking or come out here and look around you'd be amazed at what you can find. Hope that helps. Thanks for your comment. 🙂

As I see it from the houses and landscape it is harmanli haskovo region. I do not know why not to say which village is, 😂, may be you are hiding from the Brits 😂😂, but just the opposite mate bring as more Brits as you can here to live. It's more fun and gives life to rural Bulgaria, gives enthusiasm to older people that live in the villages, get your little one in the kindergarten will speak the language of metter of months. Try to learn the language it's not that hard, just the basics. Make friends , enjoy. But if you want more wilderness you must check strandja sakar region

Very sensible! but we’ve started converting an outbuilding to a utility/kitchen already. I’m actually coming across next weekend, I’ll be shopping for kitchen units so our builder will hopefully have it all fitted before we arrive 🤞
