I still hate it when people call Billy, Nancy, and/or roman broken because the way I see it, they're clearly not and deserve no sympathy.
I also hate it when people call Stu influenced when he chose to be a serial killer. It's not like Billy forced the option down his throat. He may be a pawn, but pawns can be just as, if not more dangerous than the ones manipulating them, and Stu's no exception. His care for Billy and his parents is alsp definitely not genuine.
I’d say Billy is sympathetic because you can understand why he’d want to kill the woman who had an affair with his dad and caused his mother to walk out on him. Framing Cotton for the crime, murdering innocent unconnected people and constantly peer pressuring Sidney into having sex with him before he can kill her however in just pure insanity and disturbed as hell
