If you actually listen to the conversation between the woman and the journalist, this song goes really hard.

The "noises" don't bother me at all and fit perfectly with the piece, such is the brilliance and texture of hamauzu's compositions. One thing I absolutely adore on his work.

3:20 This part is such a typical Hamauzu's touch. I'm just so happy I've discovered him thanks to Final Fantasy X 😏 One of the few composers able to transport me elsewhere simply with melodies.

That part reminds me so much of Eternal Fight from FFXIII-2 and I love it

It's like 2 things that mesh together, both proceeding forward playing off of each other, one very broad and encompassing, the other specific and focused. Like the passage of time in general thought then the passage of time with a few people.

Gosh, the color of that chord at 3:27 is just so deep and dark. I don't know how he does it.

It's found in a lot of modern jazz, he must've gotten influence from there

Sounds like an F#m9 chord, which sounds really awesome since it's a bit of modal mixture within C major. The full progression starting with those pizzicato strings sounds like Cmaj7 - Dm9 - F#m9 - Fmaj7 (#11). God I love Hamauzu

Luc Ta Yep, that’s it! Not a lot of composers use it :(

The phone convo noises do bother me a little but i get the feel that hamauzu was going for. It is an otherwise very creative idea. The text typing got slightly boring for awhile though on the video side. But then again i'm here for the music so it's all good.

Yeah i don't like the addition of the conversations on this and Giant. Ruins it....

I think that the voice over Giant is an essential part of the piece. I agree that the music is magnificent and could do well alone, but Hamauzu's idea is deeper and more complex. The alarming tone of the gloomy text in Giant gives a better understanding of the video, and a fascinating contrast with the music. At time they synchronize: (at 2:33 th-cam.com/video/j--BPcCaeQU/w-d-xo.html ) the music gets darker, Mina's face seems to listen gravely to the voice, and it reveals about those who did not survive the authoritarian crisis with the Giant.
That poses a serious question: what does Hamauzu's powerful joy represent? Distraction from those deadly threats, or the force to overcome them?
