For me there's no problem with the battery. I can use it with once charging in a day and about the heating issues when it gets hot I leave it for a few minutes after which it cools down again. I think it depends on each person's usage. For this a month I've been satisfied using the A55^^

The zoom on this phone is all digital cropping. The A55 does not have an optical zoom lens, sadly...
at the moment I haven't tried up to 10x zoom but it's true that it's not equipped with a telephoto lens so the results aren't that good
