Anybody who expected Sam Darnold to go from being Sam Darnold to an actual good qb when it counted probably still put their teeth under the pillow for the tooth fairy
EXACTLY. It DOESNT matter what happens in the regular season! I don’t care if he threw for 60 td passes in the regular season. If you can’t do it in the big games in the playoffs what GOOD IS IT?? Look at Mahomes….he did f’&$k all in the regular season this year. Is anybody betting against the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl this year (within means, they’re the favorite is the point). No, cause in January and February Mahomes can win at any time. THATS what matters and that’s what the Vikings need to find.
@@mmkay32 exactly. At this point Mahomes could píss all over the regular season and nobody cares because we know what he's gonna do in the playoffs. I know he's had some bad situations but I watched him in Carolina and yeah our teams weren't the greatest but he's Sam Darnold. He's gonna have some moments that get you reeled in and as soon as you really need him, he's gonna turn right back into Sam Darnold lol he just is
You could have said the same thing for Lamar even the talents are not the same, it took Lamar awhile to win a playoff game. This guy rejuvenated himself this season so he deserves a chance to prove he can eventually win in the playoffs
Bro Darnold was NEVER good for years then all of a sudden came outta nowhere with this great season. THATS NOT WHO HE IS. And you’re comparing Lamar’s situation to his? Nonsense Lamar didn’t struggle for 5+ years then start winning league MVP’s
I still believe in Sam Darnold. This was his first playoff game and he showed that he always had the talent but the Jets and Panthers don’t know how to get that talent out of the quarterback. He got sacked 9 times and the offensive line didn’t block well for him. To me it shows more of the team aspect and how one thing going wrong can snowball
Sam Darnold went from cashing-in to bargain-bin. The coach is not far behind. Going for it on 4th down on the 50 yard line when you didn't have to? What the...
Vikings know they wont win because of Sam. He's not elite... They've got two QB's, that are better athletes (dual threat QB) than Sam. One might be the elite QB, each team is looking for. They'd be willing to trade him.
As a lifelong Packers fan, I'm just happy that I quit on the Packers in the fourth and watched the epic Alex Michelsen match against Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Australian Open. Watching the greek clown, Stefanos Tsitsipas, get humiliated was so much more fun than watching Jordan Love throw another interception. I do think Sam Darnold is still seeing ghosts.
@@jakieresykes3644Daniel Jones never was close to reaching the season Darnold just had the season rob is talking about he threw 15 tds and 9 ints lol you can't compare that to 36 tds 12 ints and actually throwing the football down field
Why am I not surprised? Rob just digs in his heels no matter what. I guarantee the Vikings could have won the Super Bowl with Darnold as MVP and Rob would still have the exact same opinion. He probably thinks Matt Stafford is still a bum with empty stats.
Im sorry but watching Michigan play, he's the perfect kid to play in the Vikings system... He can make all the throws when asked to throw and he's a winner! Makes winning plays and doesn't turn the ball over... JJ will slow them to build and build around him and let him become dynamic and dangerous... Go with McCarthy
Vikings do the same thing every time they’re in the playoffs. Used to be a fan from ‘87 to 2010, noticed a pattern and refused to follow that team anymore. 🚮
If I’m GM (im a Vikings fan), I’m sorry but this league is too competitive and especially with this team, who has never won a championship, and is/has been waiting since its inception, I cannot bring him back. Especially in a ~100m cap hit to the team. At the end of the day in my eyes it’s NO GOOD what you do in the regular season if you CANT do it in the playoffs. Simple as that. What matters, and this is what’s obvious to me, is what you can do in the postseason, and Sam has shown he CANNOT do it in big moments. Look at the season Mahomes has had for example. It’s been a very lackluster regular season for him. Yet, his team is in the playoffs and when he’s in the postseason he can win ANY game and all of his teammates, coaches, analysts, fans know it and that’s why the Chiefs are still the favorites to win it all even after the mid-level season Mahomes has had until now. It doesn’t matter, it’s different when the games mean the most for him, he can win them all. And that’s what the Vikings need to find.
Supply and demand.......it's a simple math problem.....32 teams and itchy finger owners...... someone will bite...... it's a great asset to sit on... also there's a rookie sitting on the bench playing on a rookie contract ❤
Wait until you see how bad JJ is. Everyone will be reminiscing about the good ol days with Sam. Lol JJ just knows how to hand the ball off in a run first team under the Harbaugh scheme. He's lost a lot of mass since his injury too. He's looking like Bryce Young size now. I don't think Darnold is a top five QB but everyone saying throw him away is gonna have another thing coming when they get JJ.
Sam unfortunately had his 2 worst games on the biggest stages. But they only lost to the same two teams twice each. Back to back both times. If you swapped both pairs of games I don’t think people would be talking like this about Darnold. The only thing that makes the situation difficult is money. I do not believe in JJ McCarthy whatsoever. The only National Championship winning QB that I can think of that had any kind of somewhat significant success in the NFL is Burrow. There might be some that I’m forgetting, but for the most part those QB’s aren’t usually the best pros. They’re usually on college teams that run the ball a lot with great defenses, which is what Michigan was. I don’t think JJ McCarthy is going to play as well in Minnesota as Darnold did, but he’s younger and cheaper. As an NFL fan who doesn’t have to pay the contract, I’ll take the better player every time.
Im far from a Viking fan but as a Saints fan we'll take Darnold cause Rob definitely tripping with this take😂 Darnold got the Vikings 14 wins with his first year with a good team you know how many teams would love to have that many wins I know my Saints will and I know the Jets would😂 Rob is the same guy along with Chris Broussard that said Cooper Rush was a better QB than Dak now look at what happened when it really was on the backups to win Dallas was trash missing Dak like crazy 😂
Jus franchise tag for a year but it makes no sense to sign him to a long term deal to an older qb who chokes in big games, I can see if he was a rookie
Rob Parker is carrying this show now
I’m not out on Sam Darnold, because I was never in on him. I knew he would choke when the chicken needed to be swallowed
