- I made Skaya try on some dog booties to see her reaction! It was her first time wearing these little boots, and I’m not sure she was too pleased! 😅
Siberian Huskies and other sled dogs don’t necessarily have to wear dog booties (boots) when they’re out on a trail, but when it’s icy and gritty like it is over here, it’s a lot safer for their paws!
Since Skaya wanted to try out sled dog life, I thought I’d give her a little taste by letting her try on the booties indoors first. I made sure to use a lot of treats, praise and positive reinforcement for this first experience (and hopefully this also gives you an idea of how to teach your dog to get used to wearing this kind of apparel!)

For anyone who doesn’t know this most dogs have this reaction because they can’t feel their paw pads on the floor and it makes them feel uncomfortable. But with practice they learn that it’s okay!
Why use them at all..its not their for them naturally..or is it the egotistical mind that people have..for example husky was breed for cold temperatures they have no problems to lay out in the snow at -25 degrees Celsius
@@spiritwolf7 people use them for safety reasons say there going with an area with a bunch of rocks. They keep the dogs feet from getting hurt and dogs feet DO get cold no matter the breed

No worries! Not rude at all! She has heterochromia, which causes different coloured eyes. I'll try and make a video about it soon! 😊

@@SkayaSiberian my housemates dog one of them has one blue eye and one brown eye and he's a pitbull terrier I use to think only huskys have those kind of eyes but recently I've found out several different breeds of dogs have eyes like that
