well done BAFTA. It is very important that the Brits considered Streep's portrayal of Thatcher as the best performance of the year...2nd award after 30 years!
Oh my goodness !! Such a good scene. Just like a cinderella Style !!! i love it so much !!! What a great moment for the two of them !!! WOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
It is often much harder for an actor, however accomplished, to portray a real-life person than a fictional character. So much more is examined when an iconic figure such as THE IRON LADY (Margaret Thatcher) whom the British knew better than anyone is portrayed. For them to award MERYL STREEP who is not even British, their highest film accolade, is very high praise indeed. The right ACTOR won here.
He is such a handsome guy! and...what a gentleman! Prince Charming picking up Cinderella's slipper, and it fitted just like a glove... Lol Meryl Streep, love you! LPM
Meryl, after her win is announced, makes a kind of "Oh no, not again ... " expression to Viola Davis who was turning around from her seat a row or two down, across the aisle. It was a pity that Meryl had to keep apologizing to Viola for winning. Meryl did it in her actual acceptance speech at the Golden Globes. Some of the press and many here on TH-cam reviled Meryl for receiving an award that they felt should have gone to their favorite, Viola Davis. It got a little ridiculous.
I'd love that Meryl Streep is such a wonderful actress but it would have been so nice to see Viola Davis win for the help. But I can see why they chose Meryl Streep because he played Margaret Thatcher. This is England after all. This is the bafta Awards. Although Meryl Streep did beat her out at Academy Awards too. It would have been nice if Viola Davis would have won that award as well
The presenter is funny as hell...……………… (5:54): ohhhh - prince charming....... I wouldn´t do the decision between Viola & Meryl! The cinderella - moment with Colin Firth! I am so jealous!
@guysadoreDawn nope, actually the one and only time she had won a BAFTA was back in 1982 for "The French Lieutenant's Woman". For "Doubt" she won the SAG
if actors and actresses were nominated in the same category for Best actor, Meryl Streep would still have 3 oscars and countless nominations.
"The fate of the well-known is to be misunderstood" that was so eye-opener and touching! 🤩😍❤️😲
She hands her purse off and then loses her shoe 🤣 love her
Donna Sheridan and Harry Bright. Im not fine. She is a totally queen, hilarious moment and speech. I love her!!
LOL Colin is truly a Prince Charming

Colin won the real BAFTA with that moment and that kiss.
Such a smart woman... you can understand how she won all these Oscars and awards in general... She understands the essence of being.
Such a strong year in acting. Literally, in a less competitive year any of the 5 could win, literally.
Da Best that was a very tough year
Uma atriz estraudinaria
Glenn close wasn't nominated for Albert knobbs?! !
@@A.A_xv You mean Oscar right. Because here Berenice is just a fill-in.
A Goddess. and the way the applauses for Meryl are just much louder than for the other nominees just makes me smile. She HAS to win the Oscar!
Colin presented the BAFTA, Golden Globe and Oscar in 2012. All deservedly to Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady!
Colin Firth is such a gentkeman and so adorable.
Jubinne
Tilda Swinton at 03:51. Would have loved either Meryl or Tilda to win.
they are all very good actresses! :))))
(but, Meryl you are my favourite)
"The fate of the well-known, is to be misunderstood."
This was my favorite awards season. Such strong competition!
She is the best all the time
Oh my goodness !! Such a good scene. Just like a cinderella Style !!! i love it so much !!!
What a great moment for the two of them !!! WOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
She's one of my all time favorites, I love everything she plays in. You are absolutely brilliant, I can't get enough of your perfomances.
A queen, as usual.

I am so jealous now!
pre meditated ????
I just love her. 💘
She's so beautiful.
I’m surprised tilda swinton didn’t get more recognition for we need to talk about Kevin, her performance was actually very strong in that movie.
these two are always making HISTORY!!! COLIN Prince Charming FIRTH!
wonderful...great speech
Meryl Streep became Cinderella
È una donna simpaticissima.

"The other half of me is Wilkinson, from Lincolnshire". NOW I know why. Wilkinson is why Meryl! Now I can die in peace 😊

Meryl is a greatest actress! ))

you talk too much …That's doesn't mean anything
Oh well. Viola will get one

"this is England after all" "This is the BAFTA".... So, no one else but Tilda Swinton deserved it more....

Glenn close wasn't nominated for Albert knobbs?! !
She must be a really nice lady she seems so full of life!
It would have been funny if the presenter said, "I'm callin' forth Firth!"
0:55 Helena and tim are still together here
королева всегда остается королевой!
Meryl immensa Meryl tutti ai tuoi piedi.
Loved Stephen Fry's intro for 'cruise' ;)
colin 😍😍
I love her, but I can only trust the greatest actor in the world so much...😆
A gift to the world 🌎
Who is the woman at 4:15?
Christina Ricci
3:51 Anil kapoor!
Dhanush 💪
Yeah, it actually is him.
@kpax222 It is a well-deserved award! Meryl is an amazing actress.
Michelle williams is always looking up and sometimes I wanna just scream "LOOK FORWARD"
Ja Zee LMAO TOTALLY
@@yoni5570 her marilyn is so damn brilliant
3:51 > Tilda Swinton trying to catch some flies.
Glenn wasn't nominated for Albert Knobbs??!! Wtf
People keep saying that Meriyl is robbed when the most robbed person for the all time movie history, in my opinion, is Close.
I know. Glenn deserved at least a nomination.
@guysadoreDawn nope, actually the one and only time she had won a BAFTA was back in 1982 for "The French Lieutenant's Woman". For "Doubt" she won the SAG
Yeah and her first bafta should be Kate Hepburn's second win
0:55 aaaah Helena and Tim Burton *_* my favourite hollywood couple
If she is young, lady diana will be her next best role.
Meryl was robbed 14 times !
Is there anil Kapoor behind Tilda swinton
So, they nominated Berenice Bejo over the astonishing Glenn Close on Albert Nobbs?
at the end of the clip. . . the hand is of chris nolan ???

I can't believe she didn't thank Margaret Thatcher 🤔
jamiegrifter Of course she didn’t. In every interview, she made it so clear that she didn’t agree w/ the politics. Blah blah blah.
Why the fuck didn't they stand up 🙄
Was that Benedict Cumberbatch and Steven Moffat with their heads in their hands at the end?
Hey. Great Effort. value eggnog What's happening.. 11
Es muy auténtica, se le quito el zapato y para ella no fue nada, si es otra es una tragedia
Tilda was roooooobbed!!!
Hahah, Yes it's them :P
Sorry, but this year the best leading actress was Glenn Close in "Albert Nobbs" 😐
::)
Love her love meryl..... But tilda should won, just saying
did meryl ever lost an award
Yes, she lost a lot. She was nominated around 120 times or more.
Yes, She lost the Oscar 18 times 😉
her handing her purse to shailene woodley and was like fuck it is sending me
why is there a best actor and best actress award? seems ridiculous to me
Tilda deserved to win.
She is so fake ! Ooooh really? I'm the winner? I'm so shocked!
No, She isn’t have to fake. If you see her, when Colin says her name, she directly looked Viola by telling her she wouldn’t win. It’s obvious.
you clearly don't know how genuine Meryl Streep is .
