Hey Ben, didn’t something wild like a long tom eat the lure initially, then either the GT ate the longtom or the the longtom came off and the GT instantly smashed it? Me and my mates would love to know the sequence that went down between the bend in the rod and you screaming “now it is!!!” - you’re a freaking legend man, watch all your stuff and would love to hear the story, even just a brief overview of that hectic hookup. Appreciate you man 🙏🏼
Cheers mate!! You’ve pretty much Nailed it. 1. As the cast landed it fowl hooked a long tom 2. Pulling long time back a massive GT hit and ate the LT and Hooked up. 3. Pulled hooks on that fish but then hooked the fish landed as I was retrieving the lure!
Where would you recommend fishing for GTs out of Australia? My wife knows how much I love to fish and that I love watching videos of fishing for GTs on TH-cam. Any help would be appreciated. We're coming out of Miami, Florida USA.
What a slammer! Impressive! Those Big G's are Rad! It's a dream fish for me as I live in the States, 500 miles or so to the nearest (cold) salt water! So something like a G or a Wahoo or a Doggie would be a halfway round the world expedition for me- maybe someday? Always good to have a goal! Biggest fish in my parts are the White Sturgeon- sometimes referred to as the poor man's Marlin because they do jump. My biggest was 10'2" until this past October. I hooked, fought, and touched leader on an absolute Dinosaur fish. Bums me out cuz I could not measure, but I've caught A LOT of these fish so my estimate is close. This fish made my 9'-10' footers look smallish! Conservatively I estimate my fish at 11'6" -13'6" ( likely in the 13' range) and the girth was ridiculous! Estimated her at well over 500lbs! Coolest part was she jumped Anyway what made me think of this was your busted rod as I broke my rod on the aforementioned fish also. Just too much strain on the pole!! If I am gonna break a rod, it sure helps when it is on "The One"!! Love the vids and also rea lot like your collaborations with other youtubers! Great stuff!!
