It's mind boggling to me how all the beautiful pages, artistic pieces of ephemera, yummy collage fodder, stenciling, stamping, pretty bead dangles + countless other journal elements all combine like they are a whole unit especially created for this journal even though they were mostly created on separate occasions...even spanning over the course of 5 years (10/2016!). I was teaching some kids, and would always keep the paper towels because they had cool paint on them. So after Easter one of the girls brought a whole stack of paper towels that they had used when they dyed eggs. They were gorgeous colors! She said, "I know you save these." After watching this I need to dig those up and use them in packets.

No other creative soul would think of using the materials, colors, embellishments just as you did, but what you’ve done here is sending sparks out to other creative souls and fires are starting in studios all over your viewership! Ok, so I can see now how the more you layer the more deepth you get. After all the layers are added, they enhanced the ones before. Theses steps helped me understand what I thought was covering up. Thanks
This looks great. I especially appreciate the charms and baubles of your mother’s. I’m making a fabric covered journal and I found a piece that I purchased more than 10 years ago and have never used any of it. I forgot I had it. It amazes me that God knew way back then that I would be using it today. The same is true of your mom’s jewelry for you. It blows me away every time this happens. I call them God winks❣️

This is a basic blanket stitch used in needlework and quilting as well. Great example of how people around the planet all end up using the same technique without knowing each other. I think this stitch has been used in book binding single signatures in Japan for over thousand years. I love doing things while thinking of those before me. Beautiful choice!

Wow! Each page is a Masterpiece! I made the mistake of watching the flip through 1st. I was so angry! These were all so amazing! How could Barbara not show us the process! That’s just crazy. Lol. So I came on my phone to comment and I saw the other post. Oops! Barbara wasn’t crazy! I was. Lol. Anyway, this just amazes me how these little clusters just jazz up every page. Oh yes, I do like it. I think you nailed it in creating and modifying the format to be totally you. To be honest, I was worried at first... It was kinda of overwhelming. But you persisted and it is gorgeous. I need to add stenciling to my journals. It is just a subtle icing on top. I love it. Great job and fun series. Thanks.

yes I'm making a journal out of my grocery bag, I put gesso on the cover and then covered that with metalic paint and it looks like gold leather. You are so inspirational, thank you.
