I went to a fishing college in Hull 1980 at the boulevard. Called hull school for fishermen, I was 16 and travelled from Brixham in South Devon. At the end of the course, jnr deckhand, I came 2nd with 92% and my pal Karl George came 3rd 86%. Loads of red brick houses being demolished in the area. My favourite shop was a bakery near the college. Eventually we moved from our digs at Anlaby road and stayed the last two weeks at the royal national mission for deep sea fishermen near st Andrew's Dock. After returning to Brixham and back to school our headmaster was very proud that we had studied carefully. Karl is now a top earning skipper in Brixham but I quit fishing because I wanted to travel the world and after to become a weightlifting champion.

A beautiful film put together by a person who certainly knew about what had happened in the back of Hull Folks history. As 74 year old who lived on Hessle Road and now living on the West Coast thank you.
