    The best Les Paul Fender ever made ! carved Flame maple top, set neck , good quality humbuckers[+coil splitting] fixed tail-piece with "strings through" and straight pull onto tuners, it stays in tune better than an Gibson, slightly different vibe - probably the scale length, and doesn't sustain quite like a Les Paul, but this guitar does a lot, and the build quality and finish are faultless. Made at the Cor-tec [Cort] factory in Surabaya Indonesia, this factory is well regarded and makes PRS, Epiphone, Chapman and others to a very high standard.
    Doesn't actually say "telecaster" anywhere on the guitar, and honestly this is a genuinely versatile, and well crafted guitar but no relation to a telecaster at all.
    Don't hesitate, much lighter than a Les Paul, a useful addition to your arsenal, and better value [and quality] than a lot of US made guitars.

    This is made by Cort for Fender. I’ve had one for years it feels great to hold and plays great. It’s stocked with Seymour Duncan pearly gates humbucking pickups, but if you’re not into that kinda sound they’re easy enough to change and it will still sound great 👍

      I had one for a while, and loved the feel of it but hated the sound. It was very quacky. I knew very little at the time about guitar setup, and just assumed it was more geared for metal. It may have just needed a bit of adjustment. I generally play Gibson LPs, but I'd like to give this one another shot

    This is as close to a Les Paul as Fender will probably ever get and I'm here for it. I am in love with it. I wish Fender would explore more with different material and styling. I know that classic Fender tone is due to the Alder bodies but why not have another line of mahogany body guitars for that deeper, warmer sound? Even the small things like the pickup switch and volume and tone knobs could use an upgrade. The cheap plastic knobs and pickup switch on the American Ultra are the same cheap plastic knobs and pickup switch on the Player series. It's the small and seemingly trivial things like that that I wish Fender paid a little more attention to and offered some variety, which is why I'm so drawn to this guitar. It has personality!

      Very beautiful guitar available also in red and black cherry. Lightweight with a slim neck. However it's very weak sounding IMO and your money is better spent on a Mexican Fender Standard Tele (599), Squire Classic Vibe (399) or Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plustop Pro (599). Or for a little more money, Fender Baja Tele (799 has similar coil tap options but a livelier sound) or the cheapest Gibson SG if light weight and humbuckers are requirements. For some reason Fender humbuckers suck. These are made by Duncan for Fender but they suck anyway.

    Remindes me a little of the Peavey t60 because of the thin neck. And it has splitable double humbuckers. But I think both of the peavey humbuckers might have lower output. Not sure. Also, the peavey only has 21 frets and the peavey doesn't have the smooth cut away making it easy to access the higher frets. This guitar is definateley one I would like to own.

    The perfect guitar for me.I waited years for a friend to part with this GEM for only $300. Gorgeous wine w fade to black perimeter gloss seamless one piece look neck. Tho not made in US absolutely screams quality from looks to playability. 2 Seymour Duncan hum buckers in place of that ugly steel housing single coils.Tele shape w a curved back comfort of an 8lb strat & LP sound instantly became my 6string soulmate. I'll never afford a new one. I only wish justice to the p.o.s. who stole it along with 4 others & my Fender Deluxe amp. 4 years slowly filling the holes when hurricane Micheal took our Panama City home & put me back to square one.

    • @BaileyBrothers
      @BaileyBrothers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The newer versions of this guitar do have laurel fretboards. It's been a few years since we made this video and had this guitar in the store, but it think it was rosewood. I'm certainly not above making mistakes, but the one in the video has a much darker looking fretboard where laurel is generally a good bit lighter in appearance.

    • @andrewmanara5289
      @andrewmanara5289 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is true. Earlier dated models have rosewood boards. Fender switched to laurel because of environmental concerns and laurel was the closest feeling/sounding to rosewood, and probably closer to the truth is, it's cheaper.
      I'm unsure of the dates, I can certainly tell you the 2012 is rosewood. (Own one)

    I have the Crimson Red i just bought about a week ago, I can see why people are saying les paul but that's just because of the wood, I have played les pauls a lot have an sg (not the exact same but as close as i have) but I don't see the comparisons past the wood...It plays more like a prs in fact it was between this or a custom 24 and i went with this, it doesn't sound anything like a gibson style anything, but maybe a combination of a prs, fender +, and a little bit of something else i can't put my finger on though. I could definitely just be missing it though with the comparison that's definitely a possibility but i never thought i would buy a fender i just hated them growing up, when i was learning guitar as a kid was the time period when fender was in a bit of a dull patch and hadn't broken out yet, i did like the tele though but i still to this day don't like the strat (i know its blasphemy) or any version of it from other companies but this guitar had the things i wanted to jumpstart a new style of playing and thinking and learning i needed i figured new guitar new style, new thoughts and ideas, so far so good
    the fixed bridge is awesome
    the set neck is way more comfortable then the boxy bolt on block of the normal tele's and the carved top with the belly carve and contours are a big thing that you didn't know you were missing out on with the other tele's until you play this one
    the pickups sound great
    the only con is my 3 way selector is a little loose feeling, I'll probably see if i can change out the pots and switch and jack if its worth changing
    overall i really like it, I'm glad a lot of other people do too!!!

    just bumped into your channel, nice video, with a clear demo of what the guitar is capable of in terms of tone, between the pickUp selections.
    And you repeat the riffs, so that helps a LOT ! Thank you ;) Nicely done.
    i’m looking for an alternative (cheaper) to a Suhr Alt-T.
    i need a 6 string for clean and crunchy tones, namely for long Post-Rock compositions, but also for jazzy & bossa stuff.
    My other guitar is an Ibanez 7 string RG Prestige and i usually use it paired with borrowed 6 string guitars, for my songs.
    I basically need a versatile guitar to complement the Ibanez in the mix, and hold its own when played on more conventional shorter songs.
    i believe the split coil would be a real asset , allowing me to go for a Single coil tone, when needed.
    But i am considering installing Thornbuckers on a cheaper semi-hollow Squier..or even a similar Harley Benton.
    What do you reckon ??
    thanks very much
    cheers from Portugal
    PS: would a Gibson 335 like guitar be a better option, though ??

    This has a Pearly Gates "PLUS" in the bridge position, which are made specifically for Fender, you can't get them from the Duncan site, and they don't sound the same at the standard "Pearly Gates' humbucker.
    The PG+ has an alnico 5 magnet and is hotter than the standard PG, which has an A2 mag. I think the idea is they have the same magnet as the '59 in the neck.

    • @jeffwegrzyn8947

      A lot of music stores don't seem to know there is a "Plus" version of this pickup, it seems. I don't know if Fender have changed the spec on this guitar, but it must have been very recently if they did. I don't see why they would, this guitar model has been available for about 20 years now!!

  • @lueyteledeluxe7457
    @lueyteledeluxe7457 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I should like this guitar. I've played one at my local store. They play well. It's just... I've come to associate Tele's with a bare bones look. Like, it's such a utilitarian tool, that flamed maple and carved tops... feels more like what a prs is about than a telecaster.

  • @jerryx2000
    @jerryx2000 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    how would you rate this tele compared to a prs se? Build and sound?

    • @BaileyBrothers
      @BaileyBrothers  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      very similar in terms of build quality. The PRS is going to have more of a gibson feel or sound. Because this guitar is a carved maple top on mahogany body with HH pups, it has a bit of a gibson vibe as well, but it's still a tele and has a bit more bite to it than a les paul or a PRS.

      @@BaileyBrothers would you say the Korean build ones had a different sound & quality?

    • @BaileyBrothers
      @BaileyBrothers  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jerryx2000 yes and no... this particular model certainly has a sound and vibe all own. I'm honestly not sure that I can recall another Korean built fender, other than this particular model. So yes its different, but I think the uniqueness of the guitar is more greatly attributed to its design rather than where it was built.

    I heard a couple people ragging on the sound of the guitar an amp on the demo. Keep in mind when you hear anything on TH-cam, its compressed and digital. So you're really only getting the person's opinion and experience playing the guitar and the specs. The sound will need to be experienced in person IMO...

    • @BaileyBrothers

      It's actually neither. I believe that this specific model is made in Indonesia. I've seen these guitars sell used from $600 USD and up. I believe the euro and the dollar are at near even value at the moment, so I think that's a pretty good price/ on the low end of average market value.

    With the 15.75" neck radius and pickup flexibility, I really want to say it's closer to a Carvin than Gibson in terms of feel and function. Only surprisingly inexpensive compared to other high-end Fenders; especially given the construction and materials.

    • @JHKNVY02
      @JHKNVY02 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not really, having both, the setup are terrible on the HH Tele, the headstock uses string guides, neck on the Kiesel is long tenon, compound radius and Gibson scale available, stainless vice nickel frets, etc, etc. Kiesel is a whole other league

    Set Neck changes everything [ just like in Epiphones ] - I have a set neck Squier Master Series with HH layout - no coil tap - chambered Mahogany body + Gibson scale, bridge + tail piece
    - Duncan Designed pickups which is the 2nd big diff here - real SD not DD pickups
    - add a real Fender logo neck + hardware, and these are modern miracles
