    I think your floors are beautiful 😊 it’s kind of just a different wood color in a way even though it’s tile. Just like mixing metal tones you can mix wood tones 🤷🏻‍♀️😊 love your decor style!

    I completely agree the difference that curtains make in a room! I love love love the new ones in your office. To share a tip when I get curtains, before I hang them I put them in the dryer with a wet towel and dryer sheet. Not only does it get ALL the wrinkles out, it smells good and makes the room smell so fresh!

    I thought you lucked it out when you got the coffee table and the tv stand separately and they matched. I would try a diy on the tv stand to sand off some of the orangey tint, and white wash it to lighten it a bit. They are SO good together.

    I actually really like your brown and gray tones together.

  • @tanasuter5777

    The “orange” hue in the wood you reference adds needed warmth to the cool tones in the rest of the house. I would encourage you to reconsider and be brave by adding a bit more color beyond neutrals. And remember, the woods do not have to match.

    • @TilVacuumDoUsPart
      @TilVacuumDoUsPart  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I definitely can’t get all the woods to match so we will have different wood tones. Thanks for watching!

    I know it's a lot of work but I think your cool toned grey walls is pulling out the grey in the floor. if you had more of the beige grey walls it would warm up the floors. It would be more like the master bath. I'd paint before changing the floor.

    Hi Ashley !! I like the look of the rug in the front room better than without it . It makes the space look cozy. Those towels in the bathroom are nice and they match perfectly !! I love your home !! It’s so beautiful and nicely decorated.

    Hi Ashley, love all the updates! I’m so glad you decided to change out your Glam mirror! The wood mirror is perfect, however I think you should remove the smaller frame in front of it… the mirror is beautiful on its own. You can add some really pretty black candle holders on either side. And by the way, wood tones throughout the house does not need to match.. different wood tones gives your house more character and personality.. and your floors are amazing I have the same floors throughout my house. My style is more organic boho… great video!

    Put the mirror sideways then use the tall items to block where the edge dips in a bit. That way the mirror can take up more space on the mantle.

    I love the rug and size. Just worried about the constant worry about spills , etc.. even the sofa...with kids..I think k a deeper neutral would still give you an airy clean look 🤔💕

  • @amandarobbins7361
    @amandarobbins7361 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think it’s all looking good. I definitely agree with staying away from the orange colored wood and stick with more neutral to compliment your floors. I also think the dark stained beam and mantle looks fine with everything and black would be way too hard. I have noticed that decorators are using all different tones of woods together they just have to compliment one another.

  • @tina05050
    @tina05050 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I find that styling in odd numbers helps, ie 3’s, 5’s. Also I would add books to style your mantel to add a horizontal interest since most is vertical (minus the donut vase). You can find some great neutral coloured books at thrift stores. 😊

    Hi Ashley, I've heard many designers mention it's ideal to mix woods colors. Same goes for the metals. I love your bathroom with the gold/brass with the black facet- chef's kiss. Lol I love your personality and your style! Mantal is getting there. Can't wait to see what you and Chase come up with. 💕❤️❤️❤️

    I too am making the change to modern organic. The wood pieces that you feel are to "orange", I would just sand them down til ur satisfied with the tone. U may be good with just sealing Or adding a light stain. But definitely keep them! They are solid pieces.

  • @sn-vr9yh

    I love the rug much more than the bare floor in the living room. It defines the space. So funny that you got the same one! 🤣 Guess it’s a winner!!! LOL! I think a longer rectangular piece layered over the new mirror will be perfect over the fireplace since it’s so tall. It will balance it out more.

    Love what you did to your house and as always it’s beautiful! I would suggest on the fireplace to go with much bigger pieces . Maybe tall mantel lamps since you have a plug in. On high ceilings small things get lost and appear even smaller. Keep up the great videos!

    I know it would be difficult to do, but I would move the mantle down lower so it shows more than just the ceiling.
    Chase could maybe make a box to cover it, like a floating shelf. It could be stained or painted in a color of your choosing.

    You’ve done a beautiful job of cozying things up for fall. The floors are beautiful and so are the wood pieces. Trees don’t match in nature and mixed woods give a more natural feel and seem less “scripted”. Trends come and go so don’t be too quick to change things that are large and expensive or permanent fixtures. Beautiful home.

    The Fireplace has too much stuff on it. Take off the vase on the left end by the candle holders. Take off the circle vase on the right side and add the smaller version of the tall vase and it will look less cluttered. Also take off the small picture in front of the beautiful mirror, it takes away from the mirror. Less is more. 🙂 LOVE your new towels!

  • @vdute7890

    I actually think the varying wood tones look more organic and less “matchy”. If you change out the woods that don’t match, you will lose a lot of the organic interest in the decor. I think your house looks curated and interesting instead of overly “styled”. I love your decor.

    I honestly don't think you need the rug in the living room, but I agree with the fact that you don't want the bar chairs backing up into the rug, so that is better. The towels are really cute with the tassel detail. I am also looking for towels in a natural look. I might have to get these! The mirror is nice, but I think on either side you should maybe use bigger statement pieces.

    Maybe a light toned medium size picture with colors of your scheme in it for the mantle.? I’d have room maybe candle sconces on either side of mantle instead of the candle sticks??
    Restain or paint the tv stand? Lowes has stain paint where it’s a stain and a paint so you still see wood grain and pattern but the easiness of paint instead of prep needed for stain.
    I think the floors are fine cuz they’re a darkish gray.

    Since you already have a tall leaner mirror in the same room, I would not use another mirror on the mantle. Also, the fireplace, hearth and mantle are all straight lines. How about using a large round clock or large round decor piece over the mantle instead of the rectangular mirror? A large pot with a tall stem on one side and a lamp on the other side of the mantle may look nice as well. You mentioned there is an electrical outlet on the mantle.

    I love it without the rug but definitely with the doggie bed. I think it looked so sleek and clean and contemporary in a classy way. To me, it also fit your style of simplicity.
    BUT that being said ... it looks nice with the rug, just not as cohesive as before with the bare floor.
