I love these videos that show what’s involved in preparing for shows. People don’t realise that there are hundreds of hours of preparation for a 2 hour show and that is before you get to rehearsals!
i just found frost* a few months ago, i was searching some random nonsense on youtube and milliontown popped up. i bought it all and i sincerely love every album. now i'm more excited to see you live in a few months than i have been for anything in years. a once-a-decade music find for me! thank you jem ♥
Could watch videos of you working through these patches and riffs for hours Jem! You were kind enough to send me the Fantom patches some years ago and they gave me many evenings of joy! Please keep making these videos!
Wow, I wouldn’t have a clue where to start with any of that and been playing for 30+ years! Incredible amount of work that goes into making a show! Superb insight and I can’t wait to see you guys put it all together for the shows
Great stuff Jem. I’ve just got myself a Wavestate and this shows how amazing and flexible they are. More please. So interesting. I’ll be at your London show in December. Can’t wait. By far my favourite band.
Not struggling with night sleep, but I do procrastination in the morning real good! This made it soooo much easier and better! Especially since I absolutely LOVE that album and that song in particular ❤️
Would love if you did a Europe tour, gonna have to be patient and save up as I doubt you'll come to Croatia. Great stuff as always, insightful too, cheers legends!
Yess, this is amazing. When you first said you're dropping the Kronos I was thinking to myself whyyy, but now I see haha. I'm still using it and prepping for my bands shows but this is so inspiring to see you set things up, and listen to your sounds. Can't wait to finally see you all in November!
You have no idea how much I needed an oldskool Frost* Report today. Someone call Poundland and tell them to clear out the halloween tat because Christmas has come early.
I always wondered how you manage to perform your complex keyboard arrangements live. Now I get an idea how it works. Thanks for this! I own a Wavestate myself. Such a powerful beast
Been a huge fan since the beginning.I even remember stumbling across some unreleased tracks that sure sounded like y'all. "The Man with the 2.4", "Wedding Day", "Within, Without", "BigSmall", and another, "Afraid of Summer"? I believe some may have been outtakes from Milliontown? This remains my favorite album of all time and Black Light Machine is the crown jewel.
Thanks for a great little peek into a little bit of what's involved with getting a repeatable/reliable live performance set up! The Fairlight in the background seems a little melancholy though - it's like it's saying, "I wanna play too!"
Wow - Korg's editing software is brilliant. I live in Yamaha land because I like the sounds, but the editing software is rubbish - it looks like 1998. Korg's software looks brilliant in comparison, and being able to copy/paste data between two instances is pretty great. (Also, I'm a massive fan of Frost*)!
Great stuff and a nice, neat and compact rig - the Wavestate hasn't been on my synth radar before but will definitely check it out now! I seem to remember you saying in an earlier video that you were planning to use Roland Fantom's on this tour - would be interesting to find out why you had a change of heart. Looking forward to Wolverhampton and to hearing this and more live for the first time 🙂
Ouch...those Wavestate keys. Really wish they'd put a little higher quality keybed in the thing. At least it sounds pretty nice for the price. And cool background on setting up for playing live. Thanks for the post. Cheers!
Brilliant programming! We like the same synths... I'm amazed at how many of the same synths we own - your's however have exponentially better programming!
I used to love my Wavestation (alas, I sold it for something inferior that I believed would be excellent) and I use and abuse the Wavestation VST all the time. Will the Wavestate satisfy all my Wavestation needs and then some? Seems like since you have two of those bad boys I would guess yes?
@@here_be_frost of course! I am in Spain and have travelled to Veruno and London to see you before. But also depends on transport prices, flight and train strikes and some other personal factors. So that's why I am still pondering... I don't give up though!
You guys have no idea how much this song means to me. It's my all time favorite.
Yesss!
I love these videos that show what’s involved in preparing for shows. People don’t realise that there are hundreds of hours of preparation for a 2 hour show and that is before you get to rehearsals!
The synth programming is the most laborious and meticulous thing. Astonishing.
As a guitar player, do love the whizzing sound that made as it went over my head.
🤣
And as a (poor) drummer, the thump is the sound of my jaw hitting the floor.
Black Light Machine is what got me to take Music Theory! I'm a musician now and it's largely due to you. So thanks!
That subtle feeling like I should download these precious videos before Jem goes and deletes the entire Frost* youtube for the fifth time

No words to describe how much I love watching these programming videos ❤
Thank you for the kindly words Vinicuis
@@here_be_frost thank you guys for everything

It's crazy how much work goes into programming synths.
Brilliant writing. Wonderful sounds. Clever programming. Fascinating peek behind the scenes.

I'd kill for more jem production overviews
Well... Maybe just a stern look would do?
These chords are marvelous.

It is indeed going to be fun!
ALBUM 5!!!
Love it Jem! I'm just starting to program my Wavestate, so this vid is fascinating.
All that for creating shivers up my spine? Thanks, Jem!

So much fun to watch these videos getting to look behind the scenes. I am hoping for more of these videos to come. Thanks for the effort, Jem!
Thank you Guido 👍

Sure wish I could see you lads live, sadly I live half the world away, one of these days though ill make it I swear *shakes fist at the heavens* :)
It'd be great to see you, thank you

I wish December would hurry up! #Islington
Cool!! See you there! Come say hi!

Cool to see one of the Oblique Strategies sitting there! Didn't know you used those
Great set up :)!! There's not much that can beat the Kronos but this does.
wow~ I don’t think I understood any of that wizardry but it was fascinating!!
Me neither really... :)
This is awesome, you guys rock!
I’m embarrassed to say I own a wavestate and had no idea you could the the stuff your doing with it. Looking forward to seeing you play them live.

Frost* is the foundation of my Pandora station
フロスト愛しています
Thank you man for sharing this stuff
Glad to see Frost* Reports back! (even if i am a bit late)
That must immensely validate some manual writing guy at Korg

Is there a chance you come to Argentina some day?
We would LOVE to :)
I'm still pondering about seeing you guys... what to do?
Well... it depends on quite a few things. Firstly, do you want to come and see us?

the "must play or get lynched" song
Yep
Wow!! Can you fly a helicopter too at the same time??? Awesome video. Thanks for sharing 😎👍
OMG nice i liked an subbed
tourette, as in uncontrollable verbal outbursts and facial ticks?
People are like "that is so fast" which i guess are joking but to these that arent, it's called the power of jumpcuts.
Squee?💃
nice to see you taking BLM seriously
First
Simply amazing!!
