My response is late but if you use silicone glue you can keep it water resistant. The glue is $20 on Amazon. This is what professional repair shops use. I used to work at one authorized for repairs for OnePlus, Samsung and Apple. Cheap unauthorized stores use the black rubber glue as seen in this video. The black glue is great to save money and dries fast but isn't a perfect seal so water leaks.

Pro tip: once done DO NOT TRY TO SQUEEZE THE EDGES INTO PLACE TOO HARD.
If you have any overlap or a bit sticking out that doesnt snap into place DO NOT SQUEEZE IT. It WILL crack again.
I was doing this to sell my phone and wasted the time and money I spent by breaking the glass trying to make it perfect. It won't be perfect unless a professional does it with quality parts!
