1) Charo was the frog mama. This movie is a gem and an underrated one at that. 2) My sister, born in 1993 still has her Baby Chrissy doll and cradle that makes noise at my parents' house. We never let our kids play with it, too rare and cool. 3) American Girl was too bougie for my parents' budget but I read every single book cause dang, they were good. I did have a Magic Attic doll, if anyone remembers those? (poor girl's American Girl)

I was one of those kids who wasn’t allowed to watch SpongeBob, I was raised on old Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario cartoons, haha. I think the sexy toad from Thumbelina was just called “Mrs. Toad” and she was played by Charo.
Oh yes! Thumbelina and The Swan Princess, those were my two favorites as a kid.
Swan Princess is the most underrated movie ever! LOVED that movie!
Come who didn't play all the tycoon games!!! I'm surprised they were not mentioned! Zoo tycoon, roller coaster tycoon and mall tycoon. Neopets, nick jr and Disney channel had their games too. I loved toon town too!
I am 56 and I used to love playing those games with my kids, along with Freddy the Fish, Putt Putt and Sly Fox.

American Girl dolls!! I have Kirsten and Felicity, I played with them daily and can’t wait to pass them on to my daughter for her birthday this year.☺️ I read all the books, and we had a homeschool group class where we learned about history through the American Girl stories. Molly was from the WWII era, I loved her glasses.
My brother and I loved playing computer games. Zoo Tycoon was a favorite, and I had a ridiculous amount of horse themed games. I really miss playing those. Lol

As a child...or even a young man, I was completely unconcerned with popculture. I literally couldn't not have cared less, until I went to school...which was college...at 15...and then I realized that popculture was a thing...I still think its pretty dumb ngl. Im an 03 baby btw...and ill be raising my kids on the original SpongeBob, Gilligan's Island, and School House Rock.
When I was growing up my brother and I where the only kids in our grade that were allowed to watch SpongeBob. And recently I asked my mom why that was and she said, "It was because your dad and I thought it was funny".
The MTV show was called Parental Control!! It was the BEST, I wish it was still a thing!

I also remember the OJ Simpson situation happening in middle school and we got to just watch the chase on tv during class.

We didn't let our kids watch SBSP because it was STUPID! We did see the movie in the theater and loved it. Our fave cartoons were Recess, Kim Possible, Adventure Time, The Regular Show, Foster's Home, Flapjack, and Homestar Runner

I was obsessed with that game and spent literal hours playing 😆 I miss that game. Valentina saying she was 10 the same year I graduated high school made me feel a liiiittle biiiit old

I’m one of those moms who doesn’t let me kid watch SpongeBob 🫣 at least not often. When she would binge it, she started acting like SpongeBob and the more she did that, the more like squidward I became 😅 so we watch it together sometimes, but not often

1991 baby here. 🙋🏼♀️I loved the Barbie website, the Disney Princess website, and the Tinker Bell website in high school. I would play those games and print coloring pages. And I would watch the same music videos on TH-cam over and over: Ashley Tisdale's Kiss the Girl, Someday My Prince Will Come by Adrianna Caselotti, Emily Osment's Once Upon a Dream, Hayden Pennetier's I still Believe, and a fan-made Anastasia music video set to Counting Crows' Accidentally in Love. I was obsessed with romance and fairy tales in high school. I didn't grow up loving Disney Princesses or dreaming of Prince Charming (I was all about Nickelodeon and SpongeBob, too!) but in high school I became a total hopeless romantic and had a Disney Princess-themed sweet 16 birthday party. 👸 I would read Christian romance novels and write letters to my future husband and pray for him. And God answered all of those prayers in my husband. 🥰

American Girl dolls are a classic and I love that line so much. I never had a doll because they were too expensive 😭😭 But I would daydream hard core when the magazine came in the mail.
Same here!😭 my sisters and I would daydream and pick out the clothes and accessories we would get for our dolls if we had one. One year my aunt found miniature American girl dolls at Marshals that came with the book. So we each got a mini for Christmas.

In my elementary school we had a name for our parachute. Patty! Patty the parachute days were my favorite! It makes me so sad kids nowadays don’t get to experience imagination and fun
I just finished up a parachute unit in eled pe! I didn't do the shark game bc we went outside and it was a little too wet to be pulling on the ground but they do do that.

I've never seen thumbelina and this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I think SpongeBob is annoying 🤭🤷🏼♀️ I loved watching beauty and the beast, land before time, and ferngully 😊 I was born in '87 though so I'm a little older than both of you. But the sleepover stuff was so spot on! Good times lol 😆

We were not allowed to watch sponge Bob (or veggie tales) growing up. One time my homeschool group had a sponge Bob watch party and we went (bc all the parents were having a party too) but us kids were not allowed in the Tv room when it was playing 😂🤦🏼♀️
