I often wish Fnatic had a little more time before the start of the online era, maybe 3-6 more months, to really see if they could get back to absolute dominance. Eh, c'est la vie...
@@JoyThiefTheBand same. I think the community now underrates late 2019 / early 2020 fnatic. They were a good team, and it’s clear that online CS killed the motivation of flusha and JW.

I don't understand why your benchmark for whether or not a year is boring is how predictable it is to say who will be #1 of the Top player ranking. This ranking is pointless, IT'S A TEAM GAME! The game has been so fun to watch in the last few years: - So many raising talents - The gap between T1 & T2 greatly narrowed, bringing strong contenders for titles from T2 (Ence, Mouz) - The casting and analyst desks keep getting better and more professional (great job for your excellent contribution to this!) In my opinion CS keeps getting better. The last major was the best I've ever watched. I think there was a switch about 2-3 years ago in CS where having a superstar player doesn't necessarily mean you'll go deep in a tournament. And teams with no superstars but highly consistent and versatile players (Heroic, VP, Ence, Mouz) managed to challenge the best teams, while they failed before. Teamplay overall improved dramatically and it makes it great to watch
glad i came back after i kinda stopped watching during the online era, as a mouseports fan im also glad the team no longer makes you want the team to lose because they used to be bad most of the time but sometimes you saw signs of greatness
just got back into cs this year for the first time in like 9 years and it’s been so cool to watch the competitive scene, it’s in a very good place and cs2 will continue to improve
Dammit, I came here to scream "2024 will not be the best year in counter strike ever", but then when the video started you said "since 2018", and now I kinda agree with you 🙃
As for someone who startet just recently watching all events and getting into the teams, this and similar videos are both helping and very interessting. Thanks man! Played cs 1.5 and 1.6 back then and need infos and recaps like this.
Other than individual performances Mouz excelling without a real superstar, Navi trying to claw their way into championship form after losing the goat, and Faze dominance but struggling to win trophies has been a blast to watch. I really only got into watching competitive CS during the Paris Major and it’s been a wild ride since.
Casually this game has a ways to go but in terms of the pro scene as well as amateur competitive play this game is insane rn. It can only get better as well
Overall, what this means is that we will be witnessing the year where the new generation will slowly overtake the legends and established players. The names that today people will consider 'How are these players together winning anything?' to them losing anything being considered an upset. 2018 was a year where I lost interest in cs given Polish VP fell apart at the time, this year makes me feel like I want to see even more of it than I ever did. Now if I got to see a Polish team that can consistently get into Katowice playoffs, that would be a sight for the eyes...
I’ve been racist my whole life but always had to hide it. But then I found Launders and I can finally be myself. I’m so glad to finally have a place where I feel like I belong.
After BB Dacha even Xertion could be in top5 easily. It's not only about top1/2, it's about quality of playoff games and names in kill bar. Remind you, b1t, the G.O.A.T rookie was #9 in 2021. It is all about top10 names and cultural impact they giving to the new generation of players.
Yeah I’d say it’s precise but not consistent. At least to how it’s perceived since you have no way of telling when a tick starts or ends (relating to input). :(
My personal prediction: If Spirit win 1 more IEM tournament -> donk #1. If Vitality don't win anything even if G2 don't win anything either -> Monesy #1. If Vitality win a couple of more tournaments -> ZywOo #1.

2018 good cause NA won a major, astralis were the best team of all time in their prime, s1mple was #1 despite that the top 3 was the most competitive in history. Nice try though !
