    The best 3D I've seen yet. I don't know if this makes any sense but when I watched it I didn't "see" the 3D after a while. That is, I just accepted what I was watching as normal - as if this is the way a movie is supposed to be. May all future 3D movies be as technically outstanding as Hugo!

    @malows1234 yes,like some people who said to me "HUGO" IS A COMERCIAL FILM..."scorsese doesnt make art films anymore like RAGING BUL, THE AGE OF INNOCENCE,ETC,ETC"..for me that isent true....because if "Hugo" is a comercial film....damn... i hope that all camercial movies that hollywood is making this days were at the level of HUGO....yes, kubrick is gone...but his films are forever...yes scorsese is old, but we can spect at least 3 more films in the near future from him,thats good!

    i would very strongly argue that there has never been a better, more consistently great artist than Martin Scorsese in the history of entertainment. who else is there? who else in _history_ has for fifty solid years put out more prolifically great entertainments? or let's put it this way: how many _bad_ Martin Scorsese movies are there? i can't think of one that even approaches "bad." okay, what's the _weakest_ movie Martin Scorsese has made? _Kundun? Cape Fear?_ it's hard to even speculate. nevermind that (in my opinion) he hasn't made a movie that is less than great in the last twenty years. Scorsese has _owned_ the new millennium. his weakest movie since _Kundun_ in 1997 is probably _Shutter Island,_ and if you've seen _Shutter Island,_ i think you'll agree it's pretty kickass. that's what i think. and what do i know?

    No. You are over-rated if you're given too much credit for your effort if it isn't good. People shit their pants when Michael Bay pumps out a piece of shit movie and earns 2 billion dollars in box office and tards praise its explosions. Famousness doesn't mean shit when it comes to be over-rated. Someone's school project could be over-rated.

    • @erikghast3312
      @erikghast3312 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're out of your mind. Nolan is talked down to and called "overrated" because he rose to mainstream fame by creating a product that was part mainstream but heavily steeped in his own style and personal flourishes. He's a guy that could easily right now be making nothing but small art films, but instead is doing something that a lot of film geeks, including myself, scream at other directors to do... which is drop the seriousness every once in a while and do something fun and bombastic. Btw Inception is a masterpiece, if you can't see that...you're not looking close enough.

    i don't know if i'll ever get over the fact that this movie was a massive commercial failure. it lost tens and tens of millions of dollars. in North America this movie made about half of what _The Smurfs_ did. and that to me is just very, very sad. it's okay to laugh at me - i'm pretty pathetic. i find this kind of thing depressing. hard work, ingenuity and quality doesn't always win. in fact, in many cases it doesn't. i won't say _most_ cases . . . just in more than should be the case. whatever. what do i know?
