I just delivered a load of goods to Big Lots in Fuquay Varina so I looked up this video to learn about this area. Downtown looks nice on here. Thank you for the info.
We’re under contract on a home in F/V and can’t wait to move in later this year after the renovations are complete! We love your video and have shared it with folks when we tell them where we’re moving. Thanks and keep the great vids coming!
@@EllenPitts I think it’s the ways that you’re on site in restaurants and at the transformed community park so that viewers can get a glimpse of what’s it’s really like there. I’ve been comparing the outskirts of Raleigh and getting this kind of detail for this small town has made me feel a lot more comfortable with the idea of home searching there.
We just went to check out Fuquay today. Just about Everything is closed on Sunday!!! Even some of the restaurants and coffee shops. Wish we had known ahead of time before driving over to check it out. :-( It’s definitely off our list of places we’d move.
Yeah, that is the drawback to family owned businesses. They have to have a day off. Especially in the current employee shortage....many are having a really hard time finding workers. The one place in the Triangle that has more corporate stores is Garner and also Knightdale. Those are definitely all open on Sundays.
FV sucks. We moved here from Los Angeles 9 months ago. We looooove our custom home but we never shop, dine or hangout in FV. It's dirty and the entire food scene consists of bar food, fried food or fast food... 😱
@@EllenPitts we bought a gorgeous custom-built home. We looooove it and have no regrets. Great neighbors and great neighborhood. We're just not jazzed about FV itself. Being from L.A. an hour drive anywhere is normal so we don't mind traveling 30 minutes to North Hills, Raleigh, etc to shop or go out. Coming from L.A., you can feel a bit like you're stranded on an island out here. If they cleaned the place up and modernized the stores and restaurants on Broad and Main St, it would be much better. I'm sure all of that modernization is coming soon...
@@MCLBC it's definitely coming!! Fuquay was just a sleepy southern small town until a handful of years ago. It just takes time. Some of those stores have been there since the 1930's and are still owned by local families. Get into them and talk to those people. You might enjoy the charm and history of the place! (and maybe miss it when it's gone, which it eventually will be).

Absolutely!! I lived in Fuquay for years and absolutely loved it! I’m in holly springs now, about 10 minutes from downtown Fuquay. It’s all a beautiful area! Feel free to email me if you want to talk more about it. Ellen.pitts@hunterrowe.com
Why is this area rated C+ for safety on niche ? Is it less safe than Holly springs that is rated a A for safety ... moving from Ohio and a single parent. FV housing is more affordable but what are we giving up to get more house ?
I lived in Fuquay for years and never felt unsafe. The only crime we experienced was some CDs stolen out of my car. I’m not sure about the ratings but I would definitely not consider Fuquay an unsafe location. It’s one of my favorite spots in the Triangle! You might try calling the police station if it makes you feel better.
We definitely have a decent Asian population. I would check city-data for recommendations about where to live if you're Asian. As a Realtor, I am not allowed to answer those kinds of questions. :-) Here is a link to city-data local forum. www.city-data.com/forum/raleigh-durham-chapel-hill-cary/
Fuquay has a good road widening plan to manage the traffic but they are definitely still at that phase of growth where the traffic has outpaced the speed at which they can widen the roads. Cary was like that too at one time.

sure it may look nice but the school system screwed me and my family over and over again
