Prices of magic cards are very goofy. Most of the super expensive cards are ones from the 90's and early 2000's (2000-2009). For some perspective the rarest card ever made is called the black lotus. That card was printed in 1993. One of those sold for $511,100 in 2021. I'm not saying that there is no rare cards that were printed after the early 2000s but the majority of the expensive ones are older cards. Very recently there was limited print cards such as the transformers crossover cards, and the street fighter crossover cards (I sadly didn't get any of either of them😢). But you had to special order those on a massive waiting list and pay a shit ton of money for one pack of cards. so I don't think anyone actually would get rid of them any time soon. Hope this helps explain a little bit!
