Great to see you have all the skills and understanding to keep that old girl going and doing what it should do 👍 Keep it up - lovely to see it running and long may it continue- top bloke😎
Thanks, and yh its a handful, but cuts like no other saw ive used, only thing that comes close is the danarm fury, but thats a different animal in itself, and maybe i should have a race between a modern saw, and the tornado?
Great video mate, it is Amazing at this time in the world they were jet planes and this is what chainsaws look like, I have a 1958 solo Rex mark one. Cheers Kevin down under Australia 🇦🇺
Sounding sweet for an old girl 😅 . My dad used to have a Villiers on a bale elevator, it was a temperamental little bugger, I remember he had a pull cord about 10ft long and would run to give it enough swing to start it 😂 , we also had ( and still have) a danarm 110 , that is a beast of a saw 😊
The original mix is 16:1, but oil has moved on leaps and bounds since then, so I mix to around 40:1 with stihl hp 2 stroke oil, and run the carb a little on the rich side, i'd much rather over oil and have it smoke. these old saws dont run that fast, around 4500 rpm ish i think.
Engine is not running al to good, its more 4 stroking than actually 2 stroking. In other words, carb probably needs some reajusting and a new plug wouldn't hurt. Other than that very cool machine :)
She's running and cutting well, hopefully get ours running as good.
What a beast! Good work keeping it going.

I have had 4 stroke villiers engines in the past...all terrible, but the old 2 strokers are great, never had a 110, maybe one day...
Its a mega beast.
I will be watching cheers Kevin
That engine seems destined for another type of machine, it is pretty but between the weight and burns it must have been a party.
The engine is a villiers 2f, usually seen on motorcycles of that era, after a while my arms know about it 💪
villiers was a generic engine, used in almost everything at the time in the commonwealth countries... lawnmowers, rotary hoes, motorbikes...
Lmao this saw is awesome! Steam punk Af
That thjngs OK.
Uncle has something similar in 125cc.
That chainsaw should be in museum!
ha, maybe your right, but they cut great! and i like to use them when possible, they earn their keep. 👍
What mix do you run ? 25:1?
