I recognize you from Instagram! I thought your name looked familiar ;) This was so helpful because I was worried that clicking "publish" meant I would have to publish it before I was ready but that wasn't the case. Thank you for making this video!
You have to upload your completed, formatted files no later than 10 days before the pre-order goes live. Once the book is live, though, you can leave it up as long as you'd like (you'd have to go in and unpublish it to take it off sale).
Yes, as long as you retain 100% of your book's content and distributing rights, you should be able to. I was able to re-publish one of my unpublished books just by clicking the 'publishing' tab under that book, choosing retails and prices, and hitting 'publish'.
Hm... you may need to reach out to Draft2Digital for support on that one. Have you shifted the calendar to show September? I think there's a minimum amount of time they allow before a pre-order, though it could be something else that's causing it to be grayed-out, too.
@@KatherineDGrahamAuthor Yes, I went out past September and it won't allow it. I've called but no one was available. I may not set it up for pre-order for this book but try again on thr next one. Thanks for your help.
Hi Victoria! I don't work for Draft2Digital (I'm just a fellow author), so I can't say for sure. If you're setting up a pre-order for the first time, the steps at timestamp 4:40 are how I usually add my search times. If you've already published your book, you'll need to go in and change the metadata, which is an extra step. You can always reach out to D2D's customer service team for help, too.

Thank you so much for your detailed explanation, it's exactly what I needed.
I'm so glad it was helpful! Thank you so much for watching, and good luck with your book!
I already have the ebook and paperback published through d2d. Do I have to start the whole publishing process again in order to set up pre-orders?
Your video is very well made

I uploaded the full manuscript but it will not allow me to set a date after today for preorders. They're all grayed out.
