- Spring Chinook fishing here in the Northwest. Had some lucky days I wanted to share with you. Looks like more good days of Spring Chinook are ahead of us. Good luck out there.

Man I was there Saturday evening it was really hot and low water and they didn’t want anything to do with me 😂 I even saw one coming down from that fall to that hole 95% out of the water ( I’m new to salmon fishing) that was a cool site to see. I was using sand shrimp but Not fresh dug like u and also I didn’t add scent. My buddies went the next day and slayed the fish I saw on eggs lol 🤣🙄 awesome video. I’ll get one from there eventually 😎🐟🪝
Yes it’s not alway they will bite I go there a lot and sometimes no fish at all!! Good luck to you !!

Does that river have summer steelhead in it ? Don't mind the negative posts fish jump out of the water all the time and hit the water I don't think it affects them that much or they wouldn't be doing it 😁
I don't believe so, as far a I know winter steelhead

what is your set up how many lbs is the leader and line etc bait and hook?
15 lb fluro carbon leader, sea guar brand, main line Berkley X9 Braid 40 lb, size 2/0 hook, 1/2 oz. bobber, 1/2 oz. in line weight. 2-3 extra split shots attached in the event I am fishing a deep hole. The split shots are somewhat loose and can easily slide down the line to the desired location without line damage. Bait is sandshrimp freshly pumped with a shrimp gun from the local estuary which I pumped myself.
What about the leader about how many inches for a shallow hole?

Hi, here in British Columbia Canada we used roe eggs at first light then soft beads when bites stop😁. Around June our springer we called red spring(1 limit/day) due to the meat is red. Then later around sept we have the white spring(due to their meat is white).

Look at the local law book varies from state to state.
Show a little respect for the trout you're releasing pls. Wet your hands before handling them ?& try releasing them in the water not tossing them back in the river from 3 feet. You're making people your age& I'm that age, look bad by being disrespectful of the fish. Also, no one wants to hear you huffing & puffing, do a better job of editing your video. Tight lines.

One of my prior occupations was working at a state fish hatchery back in the 1970's. One of my duties was stocking fish, trout. I would drive the hatchery truck with over a thousand trout inside and follow game wardens to bridge sites that were anywhere from 15 feet to nearly 40 feet above the river and creeks. I would park on the bridge and dump a net full and sometimes more off the bridge. Never had any go belly up from the fall.
By wetting hands you can actually hurt fish more by trying to grab it and keep tight, it’s a slippery fish.
